Have a look at the Ford Fusion too if opting for petrol, cheaper than fiesta/Aveo 1.4.You get a 1.6 engine, good amount of space and a real fun to drive machine.

I would recommend going in for the Aveo.

Since you are going to get married soon it would be sensible to consider the car preferences of your better half as well.

Go for a petrol saloon...Aveo/Fiesta 1.4s as they make for better rounded family cars. Final call is yours, but personally I would buy the one that would put a smile on my face in everyday driving!

Don't buy Fiesta its not a worth buying Ford cars in India.
Not 'worth' meaning:

a. Bad cars overall
b. Bad service & after sales
c. Not a value proposition

Which one?

I beg to disagree, pal. While there have been people who have had bad experiences, there are those with good ones too... maybe u shudnt generalize.

thank you all for your suggestions and help, i finally decided and went in for the swift VDI. No regrets at all, the car is simply awesome.

I upsized from 14 to 15 " .

After a lot of test driving and calculations, i finally got the swift diesel, for its sure driving pleasure and ease to move around in chennai.

The only reason i dint go for the aveo, was its engine, its rather sloppy(1.4), the fiesta was a great car, no doubt about it, but i felt it was not worth the extra 1 lakh over the swift.

Shall post my driving experience once the car crosses 500km.

Cheers.

If it was me, I would have gone for Aveo 1.4!
It is a sedan, got nice interiors, 1.4 VGIS engine and decent GM Service!

Vignesh, just noted that you already bought Swift VDI!
Congrats and Enjoy your drive!
