I would suggest to get a 2nd hand Alto 1.1 and do some sane and good mods onto it. It will be small, cute, hot and powerful.
Or if he can be adventurous, then a Gypsy, Willys, Jeep or an Ezen would do.

But where is Shuee??

Yeah get a second hand wagonR VXi (because new ones dont support flat bed). Also the Electronic ps is a boon for girls. Pimp it up with rear spoiler and roof rails. Put a decent ICE. A nice set of alloys and tints. And voila! you are the superstar of college!

P.S. Shuee came online today and made a post in Shifting gears. After that she disappeared.

Guys, seeing the Yesterday's incident at Lokhandwala, I strongly feel, no cars for college goers. Use public transport or tell your parents to drop at college instead of buying a car.

See money is not a prob so i don't see the point of buying a used car.
And alto and zen seem VERY small, accident prone and common cars!

(and why the hell are people referring to me as "she"?)

This makes a lot of things clear about you and your car.
If money is not a major issue.

Maruti Esteem (Space and mileage)
Baleno (Old shape) (Excellent performance, with the new model ..going to be launched, you might get a good deal on the old shape)
Honda City ZX (Enough discusison is available on the forum)
Mitubishi Lancer (Still has an image to reckon with, I am sure people in your college would give it some attention)

i agree with the seniors here a contessa would a great job for its not really difficult to handle it and feels way more comfortable to drive in anytraffic!

plus a bigger car means Better safety and the maintanence is less and this car returns good fuel efficiency too( i heard it to be around 18kmpl for petrol and i know it returns around 20kmpl for the diesel version for we owned one previously both are highway figures not sure of the city ones)

all this one can get for a good 2.5lacs around the equation is 50000rs/- + 2lacs to get it into showroom condition and nothing else! this would be agreat option it you are willing to go through restoring a car!

or else go in for a swift(diesel for good FE) or a getz(old one not the prime) if you feel the other one are common and accident prone!
