Well not exactly in the same price range , the ford Ikon is around 75k more but again I am willing to pay that as I am getting a dicky :) . Actually its not 3 weeks , in fact i called up my delaer yesterday and he said that there is no word of the dispatch but should NOT be more than 3 weeks. :) . I wonder when will this fellow start counting his 3 weeks cause whenever i call him he tells me 3 weeks !!! Hey guys i have the snaps of the new colour with me , pls tell me how to post it , i would like to go in for a poll for the same :-) . It will help me decide.TIA

Replying to your query here on the forum thread itself, as against the PM, as it may benefit others who are on the lookout for the Ikon. Sorry i couldnt reply earlier.. as i was away on vacation, with no net access.

You seem to have narrowed to the Ikon and the Swift VDi. Being an Ikon owner, i would be more aligned towards the Ikon, but the Swift is not bad at all. There are many threads on the Swift VXi, so leaving that to the others to pitch in.

Moving over to the Ikon Flair. Your main query was with regards to the F.E. part. My city driving returns me figures varying between 12-14kmpl, ofcourse, varying on the A/C usage. The lowest ever obtained was 11.98kmpl which involved almost 100% A/C usage, and also getting stuck for ages in Bangalore traffic. Highway with 100% A/C usage returns anything between 16-17, while varied usage of the A/C gave me almost 18.8kmpl once, which involved highly sedate driving.

Let me mention here that I drive with a light foot, and do not involve in any street/signal drags. While i do drive fast if the need arises, I am more of a careful driver. I fuel up with Shell regular, and havent tried System G to-date.

As for the offers you have mentioned, i recieved a corporate discount of 7500 rupees, along with a Blaupunkt MP3 player thrown in, and i had also opted for the Extended Warranty which takes the total warranty period to 3 years. All basic accessories are the same as what is provided by all the dealers, while the spoiler is a bonus here. :)

The dashboard on the Ikon may not be the best to look at, but i dont have any complaints. My car has done about 7600 kms till date, which involved some really bad roads in its stride, but there are absolutely no rattles. After sales service for me has been really good so far, that I based on my current experience would not hesitate in going in for another Ford from the same dealer if the need arose.

Hey man why waste ur money on a hatch back when u can get a sedan and that too a perfect driver's car. The ford ikon 1.3 may not hav the zing of the 1.6 nxt models,but it sure is a neat drivers car and will thrill u. If u r lookin for fuel efficiency,let me tell u somethin.
My frnd just bought a swift lxi model and the milege he's gettin is around 11kmpl. The Ikon 1.3 will give u more than that,and will take ur family comfortably and on weekends u can take it to an empty stretch and drift round...(just kiddin)
