Alto Lxi / Wagon R Vxi / Xeta GLX ??

Hi,

A friend of mine is contemplating buying a second car. He has narrowed down to three choices - Alto Lxi, Wagon R Vxi and Indica Xeta GLX.

He has not considered Swift since its more expensive plus he is wary of its build quality issues etc. His budget is 4 lakhs max. The car will be driven by him as well as his father and sometimes by his mother and wife too. He is a good driver and does not race or thrash the car much.

Which out of these would be the best buy considering decent FE, low maintenance, ease of maintenance etc.

EDIT : I forgot to add that most of the times the car will be driven with max 1 or 2 ppl.

If its two persons max and not a tall family then here is my preference.
Alto - WagonR - Xeta

if max 2 people at a time and if the family's members height is not more than 5.9ft Alto. has more FE compared to other 2 cars. if family's members are taller then it must be Xeta

Yeah even I doubt, theWagon R VXi's price inNoida s per MUL site is 375823(Non Metallic) & 379213 (Metallic) which translates to 4L+ on road but I guess discounts might bring the price within 4L

Btw if they are not bothered about Space Alto would be an economical option.

Wagon R Vxi. Might be a 5 -8 K more than the budget with the current discounts, but its a good buy. Good fuel efficiency and low maintenence. Alto is a good car too but it is underpowered. Can look at Duo option in case the monthly mileage is more.

Go for the Wagon R. The xeta is the most spacious and would have been the best if you had a driver. But would not recommend it for self driving. The Alto is way too small and cramped. If you are willing to spend 4 lakhs, the Wagon R is the best of the lot. But if you want it to save money and dont mind less power less space try the alto.

WagonR suits your requirements perfectly.
You can also consider Santro Xing. Alto is a bit underpowered specially with a/c on.

Good option would be to try the Santro. Not that I feel there is any problems with the other cars mentioned, but Santro takes my vote.

Not that i have anything against the Wagon R, more of a personal choice.
I can also say I find the Santro much better looking than the 'new' Wagon R. When it comes to features, i guess most of them in this category are pretty evenly matched.

You are right. Wagon R Vxi has Airbags, Electric ORVM but no rear power windows like Santro. But it still has Maruti A. S. S. backup.

EDIT : And remember the car will be driven most of the times with 1 or 2 ppl...so no great need for rear Power Windows.
