Santro or Estilo or Spark or Palio

Hi,

i will return from US in another one month to B'lore ) Heard that this is a great site with car enthusiasts. needed some expert advise on the selecting a small car. I want to know the following.

1. FE in City and on highway (always with AC on )
2. Seating comfort (including rear seat)
3. AC effectiveness

my current options are santro/estilo/spark/palio-stile/swift

i heard that chevy spark is still not available in b'lore any idea when will it be? it will be if some one can throw the details of all the cars mentioned above.

Many thanks in advance.

Palio looks out of place in comparison with the other 3, as it is bigger. Its more in the Getz/Wagon R/U-va club.

* The Santro's rear seat/ rear seat ride is its weakest link in an otherwise accomplished package.

* The Estilo; well - the thing annoys me too much.

* Spark is supposed to have garnished good feedback and is contemporary.

* The best build quality of all belongs to the Palio - supplemented by the most average service support.

Result: The Spark seems to have an edge above the other 3 here.

@Godfather: I trust this meets your stringent standards now.

Palio Stile only if you get the 1.6L. Otherwise the Santro is a pretty good package, and has good quality too!

You do have a good knack on confusing people dont you..hehehe..

Anyway i think you should start looking at the Swift and the Palio.. Scrap the other 2 from your list.

@MAG -- Yes it does.. Thanks a lot

My Swift returns 14 kmpl in city drive and 18 kmpl in highway. My daily traveling includes some empty stretches too, hence instead of 14 kmpl, you can take it as 12 kmpl.

Front seats are very comfortable & rears are not comparitively. But its managable.

AC is effective, but definitely not as my friends Palio

If you can afford for Swift, you can also bring Getz into contention.

Whats your budget? what about ur daily usage?

I think you better go with the Santro. Its a tried and tested product. Hyundai A.S.S. is better than both GM and FIAT. But bouncy ride at the rear is its main concern.
You can also consider WagonR, better ride quality than the Santro, but you may(or may not) like the looks.

Sri, I won't say which Car is good or which is bad!
Just Test drive all the four Cars and decide for yourself!

Since I own a Palio 1.2, I can vouch for its Ride & Handling, Build Quality, Space and Mileage of 12-13 kmpl in City (Stile 1.1 will give you more: 13-15 kmpl). Fiat-Tata Service is not bad, just Average!

My personal opinion after driving pailo for around 500 kms for the first time = Best ride & handling/Build quality/space/stability ( though height of the roof in rear seems to be little problem) in its segment. It never disappointed for choosing it for the longer drive over my Swift.

On the FE front, it returned me only 13 kmpl with soft footing. Since you claim more FE figures, need to ask my friend to check it out.

Whats the turing radius of Palio? (iam not comfortable in some u turns)

Edit: 5.1 vs 4.7. Difference is felt

If you can afford to plough in your money on the Swift, think no further.
Else, from the list mentioned, the Santro is an established player and should serve you well.
