Shapath, what's the asking price? I was getting the same specifications with about the same odo reading for 65k in Kolkata last Oct, these are available for about 50-60k now depending on the condition.

Take the car for a long drive though before buying and see if there are any unwanted noises coming from anywhere.

quote for this used M800

The seller is expecting about 65K. 2 tyres has to be replaced as they may run only for abt 2500 km more. About 1500 to be spend for small tweaking in gear and bearing. By the way M800 is GOOD in structure, clean look ,has Radio -cassette player , GOOD AC & 90/100 headlights with relay.

I think you can squezz the seller down to 60k atleast, as the tyres need replacement, check the AC in the afternoon though as afternnon cooling and evening cooling are two different things.

Also check if the odo meter reading acurate, the numbers should be alligned striaght and no numbers should be scratched.

At 60k, it should be a good deal.

not more than 55k

you have to spend on tyres, and its a 97 std model though it has an ac.

if you find a bit hard you can get 1997 maruti 800 within 50k.
start burgaining from 50k and keep a mentality that you will not pay more than 50. you will land up somewhere between 50-55k.

the price is bit more than expected.

50K is a reasonable price for it. If it is in good condition, max 55K.

But you have to spend for Tyres also.

So ultimately u'll spend around 60-65K (after negotiation).

As the car is old, it bound to give some niggling problems.

Better raise the budget & have a 00-01 M800.

65 K for 97 model M800 is bit high. I believe 50K should be the correct one (plus minus 2 K). You can also try Maruti authorized 2nd hand car showroom. There the prices may bit high but you will get reliability and 3 free services too.

Allo, allo, you are answering an almost 2 year old query. Shapath has probably bought it & sold it also.

Not sure about Chennai but in Delhi cars older than 15 years are difficult to get registered.
I bought a 1996 Maruti (around 60K on the ODO, Delux Model, with A/C) 3 years back for 55K. Replaced the tyres for around 4K and it did just fine for the next 2 years. Still using the same car
