A couple of months ago I emailed Skoda India asking them when Fabia is coming and got a stiff reply to the effect that they will not tell.

Well, according to the Skoda company newletter, the Fabia and the New octavia should be out this year. However, I've been hearing that for 2 years now!

On the flip side if you can wait, I think the Fabia would be well worth it! Can't compare the Viva to the Fabia, they are world's apart in every area, except the price maybe.

Also, I think the regular Accent sedan would make a better buy as I don't think the Viva hold's its value very well. Don't see too many of them around either.

I too am eagerly awaiting Fabia's launch(hatchback) and have got solid feedback from my friend who have driven it in the UK.

SWIFT/GETZ/FABIA/AVEO ...hope they are launched in the first half of this year..

Guys please keep updating this topic on any info you happen to get on the launch of these hatchbacks

I hope they launch TDis/CRDis/Multijet ones along with the petrol ones...and not like petrol now and diesel after a year or two

Skoda is owned by Volkswagen, hence German parentage, CZech residency.

Yes atleast half german, coz they do share a lot from the parts bin of volkswagen. Infact the octavia is based on the VW Golf platform.

my octavia has more OOOO parts than VW! The engine is lifted from a OOOO. the plumbing is all OOOO. even the front 2 seats are from a OOOO. the logo is all over the car. it is safe to say that Skoda is less CZ than Opel is German (there is more german engineering in a Skoda than there is American engineering in an Opel which is good too!).
