Swift LDI/Indica DLG T/Indigo LS

Seniors help me please??????

I am planning to buy a new car(DIESEL), i stay in new delhi working in gurgaon with a daily running of approx 60kms pd/1000 kms a month. Mostly 2 ppl travel, but is also used as a family car.

I already own a Indica DLE 99 model(od running-135000), the car is in very good condition still giving me aroung 14-15 kms/ltr and fully satisfied with the car.

First wanted to go ahead with Indica DLG turbo but family members are looking for a change. they say after 8 years i should buy something else.

Enqiured about swift LDI but there is a waiting period of 3/4 months, now i am confused in the sense-should i go ahead and book swift ldi OR buy Indigo LS/LX(both are available) or look for Logan dle(although dont know anything about logan-fe, comfort, engine power, maintainence) OR wait for another 3/4 months to look for new diesel models coming in (if they are coming)

Need your suggestions about what should i do now-book swift ldi/ go ahead for Indica/Indigo or wait for 3/4 months for new models in diesel, if there are any new launches planned.

You did not mention what you budget is like and what are you exactly looking for in the new car. MAybe that could help on giving you a more appropriate suggestion.

Do you need a boot?
If no, book the Swift and wait for delivery.
If you need boot, then both Logan and Indigo are good cars. Tata TDI will be cheaper though(5L odd) and cost same as the swift diesel.
As for FE and power, the Logan and Indigo are similar, with refinement of Logan being better than TDI. However the Tata DICOR engine is more refined, but that car will shoot off the 6L mark.

Guys budget max 5.5-5.75lacs for a diesel car with or without the boot.I dont need the boot, as such as i hardly travel outstations- once in an year maybe.

Logan i dont know?? heard that it is an underpowered car. read somewhere on mothshut.com that its as good as a bulkcart(although cant say as never sat or driven).

Regarding Indigo i feel the engine power between the Indica and Indigo is the same. Indica delivering 68ps and indigo 70ps. the only difference is the boot. The toureq is also 5nm low in indigo(125nm) as compared to indica(130nm).
Swift- +response from every where but waiting period of 3/4 months.

Heard somewhere palio 1.3multijet is being launched in jan08, if thats true then can wait for that beauty.

@Gags: You could consider BUSA's suggestion, book a Swift and then hopefully the Palio's 1.3 diesel might be announced soon (though I doubt it would be in the next 3 months).

Btw, since your budget is actually 5.7, is there any particular reason why you're opting for the Ldi and not the Vdi? (do you feel the Ldi is better value for money or any other reason ... )

As Busa had suggested, book the car and wait for a newer model to be launched. But what ever new car is launched, I feel it might not suit your budget. It will go beyond 6L for any diesel varient. You can book a Vdi on 5.7L as well. Now the waiting period also has come down. It may not take 3/4 months, you will get the delivery within 2 months (if i'am correct).

Kickass idea since you have anyways endured Tata service -

Fiat Palio 1.6 Sport Formula Red + CNG

Gives you the mileage of diesel, and the funnnnnnnnnnn when you want
closed loop kits are kickasssssss

(back in 06 palio had OEM CNG option - do check now)

Indeed a Kickass idea. It will surely kick his. A palio with no warranty is a wonderful idea I think, since the CNG option is no longer available.

Swift Vdi is the best option and worth waiting (since you already have a car)

Are you sure?

Back in dec 06 - we almost bought a 1.2 palio, but in the end settled for the xeta - there was warranty on both cars post CNG fitment!!

If it isnt, then never mind

sadly diesel options are limited at that price range. test drive a logan and then decide and dont go by what you read or heard. or else ldi is the other option that comes to my mind.
