Getz variants

hello everybody,

I am almost certain to pick up a getz. However, i need to have some consultation on which model do i
opt.

The difference between GL (base) and GLS is approx. 26000/-.
The features that consume this 26000 are :

a spoiler
body colored door handles, garnish and side view mirror
Full Fabric seat
Body colored mud flaps
Defogger
Tachometer
Tyres 175/80 against 155/80 (no alloys)

I personally think that except the last two, nothing much to differentiate. Although ppl are inclined more towards GLS version, I some how not much convinced abt the price difference and the features.
Would invite your suggestions on this, pls.

Secondly, i did not come across FE figures for Getz. Could anyone also enlighten on this. The guys at
showroom claim it 13, i asked them to validate it, and they flunked.

Pls. advise.

Thanks,
Tarun

the differnce between the top of the line and the second best is only ABS.
so if its only 26k then i think u can opt for the better version
or else ,y not wait for the swift.

Ford Fusion looks much bigger on paper than actually it is. I checked out and found that at 6.2 lac, its way overpriced for its size. The Fusion also looks plain and simple, except from the front. Anyways that is way over my budget (5lac).

Hey Speedsatya,
Acually there are 3 variants , the Gl, GLS and one top line (I dont remeber the variant though).
The top line model actually has alloys, ABS +GLE features, which is around 5.35 lacs. The other two are priced at 4.77 and 5.03 on road. I have a choice for these two.

I actually want to go for the car within this year. Reason : Registration and road tax hike is being implemented on cars in Delhi.

The breakup is :
Upto 4 lac : 2% of the total amount of car
Above 4 lac : 4 % of the total amount of car.
However for diesels, it will be 6%. So the cars in delhi would become more dearer from 01st Jan.

See the best version to go for according to me is the GLS without ABS if u wanna save some bucks!! About its fuel economy...a friend of mine who has got the Getz GLS (Without ABS) says his new car returned a fuel efficiency figure of 11.5 on the expressway recently.!!

No tacho??

The GEtz base model does not include a tacho??? Man, thats the least Hyundai should put in for >4L . Anyway, abt your query, the GLs model seems like the ideal choice. So go for it.

go for GETZ GL

the add-ons can be done at the below approx prices:
a spoiler-------------------- 3500
body colored door handles, garnish and side view mirror-----1500
Full Fabric seat------3000 ( much better after market seat covers
Body colored mud flaps----------do u need them, I would prefer black)
Defogger-------------2500
Tachometer ---------3500, maybe with shift light --not too sure on this
Tyres upgrade to 175/80 from 155/80 ---2000 max

All sum upto 16000
So u save 10000 , which can be well spent on a decent music system or a pair of handsome alloys.

BHP:

Getz would be on passion red color only. Looks HOT !

Thx Stratos.
but 11.5 on the expressway ?? that's way too low. In city driving it would be around 9-10. Phew ! If there are feed backs from more users, than probably would be easier to close on actuals.

Yeah thanks Dippy, likewise. Would rather prefer to spend on alloys with wider tyres and stereo.

I spoke to them yesterday and negotiated, they are offering Rs 10000/- discount on GL version and offering free insurance for GLS version which is around 17000/- + a gear lock.

Guys, pls. somehow check with FE figures. That's one area where not much feedback is avlbl.

Thanks again
Tarun

Tarun, the FE figures tend to improve after each service in the initial period of car usage. If you do the running in properly, with timely servicing, the FE figures improve.

Thanked: Once

Hey Tarun,

I'm very happy with my decision to purchase the Getz. Though it has been only about 18 days since I did pick up the car, here are a couple of points I think I could share at this point:

1. FE is about 11KMPL with 50% AC usage. But quite honestly, I'll put that down to nervous driving for the first few days. Lots of gear changing to slow down in traffic and riding the clutch a bit. ;-) I'm expecting that figure to get better, though 11.5-12 is the best you should expect. I'm yet to take her out for a long drive, so I don't know what she returns on the open road...

2. Pros:

- Awesome ride - smooth and sure. She's sheer pleasure past the 60KMPH mark but manages to give you that feeling of being safely rooted to the road.
- City handling rocks - moves in and out of traffic effortlessly. Vey easy to drive. Responds brilliantly.
- Effective AC - good cooling within a few minutes
- Interiors - EVERY one of my friends who has ridden with me in the car has commented on how good the fit is
- FE - as mentioned above, which I think is pretty good.

3. Cons

Just one - she can be a little sluggish on pickup in the lower gears, especially with the AC on.

Let me know if there's anything more I can help you with. Cheers and happy car-buying. Do let me know what you finally go for.
