@Manojgautam for the budget M800 sounds good but do see if you can pick up an early mpfi zen or alto or else even a carb zen.

Well honestly, for 10-15km per day, any car will do. You don't have to worry too much about FE, suspension or seating comfort. Think about your budget and resale value.

800, Alto, Zen, Santro are all sensible choices.

Nothing better than an Alto in that segment.

The dealer price for a good 2003 Alto Lx in Bangalore is 1.46 lac. Just checked on Carwale. Is the price so high?

Thanks I will start looking out for Cars. Will keep posting as I find them.

Is it advisable to buy cars from Truevalue or Automart?

Finally decided

After a long time I'm writing again in this thread. Was very confused with what do as my budget was limited. Then came the Nano phase, I thought I will wait for the car to be launched. Realised my wife and kid need a car and cannot wait so long. I have had a terrible experience with buying a second hand Zen earlier. So I thought, since the car will primarily be driven by a woman I need to buy a new car........
Then came the most difficult part, what car to buy???

Friends advised me not to buy a 800 as it's resale & price may take a hit after Nano is launched.

Finally decided on an Alto

Booked the car from Mandovi motors & will be delivered to me on Thursday / Friday. Thanks to all the review I read on Alto, made me stretccchhhhh my budget, I am sure it'll be worth.....

alto is a decent car. Good for the city and for people who would want it to be a commuter. And best part is its cheap to maintain. Congrats on your new car.
