confused about fabia, verna or swift D

confused between buying a diesel car

fabia. saw it. looks promising. not a 3 box car. interiors not too flashy. but overall appeal looks good. and above all its SKODA. 70BHP

VERNA. interiors look better than verna. backseat legspace less than fabia( thats what i felt). mileage almost similar.

Swift D - cheaper, interiors ok. mileage good. less space

I know if its about price then swift D is the best buy but if i stretch my budget a little then fabia or verna? arey they worth stretching the budget

Thanks

Also why dont you have a look at Getz D it has more space than Swift and has a Verna engine.

If it is Getz CRDI, then it is better to wait for some more time, as Hyundai for sure will launch a model with ABS soon.

the getz will be the best pocket rocket. ABS is always welcome. fabia doesnt seem worth it.

Depends on what you expect from the car. The Fabia is a good buy, provided you can afford it both in purchase and maintenance. It gives lots of features and is more comfortable than other comparable cars. But, there is considerable diesel clatter. Also, don't buy it if performance is what you want.

The Verna and Getz will satisfy you more in this regard. The Verna is good comfortable car while the Getz is really spacious for a hatch. With the Verna you get a good competent saloon that is easy on maintenance costs as well. Economy will be good.

With the Swift you get sufficient performance and good VFM. The FE would also be slightly better than the other two. But space is a concern. Don't buy this if you can't live with the rattles.

All 3 vehicles are in different segments itself. Comboining 3 will make no sense.

1) Fabia-Diesel: Price is little high; Space/comfort-Good. Interior-OK; Exterior-OK; A**-Not so good; Safety-Good (ABS+Airbags); FE-OK.
2) Verna -D: Price is little high; Space/comfort-OK; Interior-OK; Exterior-good; A** better than Skoda; Safety-Not as Fabia; FE-OK.
3) Swift-D: Over prized. Space/comfort: Satisfactory; Interior-Satisfactory; Exterior-OK. A**-Good; Safety: Satisfactory.

If you are considering above, pls consider the below also:
Palio 1.3 MJD/Getz CRDi/ Fiesta Diesel. You will have a variety of choices.

But let us understand what you want? Safety / Comfort/ FE/ Performance/ Usage of car etc. apart from above what is your budget?

If your budget allows, go for the Verna.

Anyways, you could mention what you are expecting from your new car. That would help get better suggestions.

Like the chaps said, decide which of the following are the most important to you :
  • Space / Comfort
  • Power
  • After Sale's Service / Cost of Spares / Running Costs
  • Resale Value
  • Budget
  • Safety (Airbags, ABS, Disc brakes etc)
  • Extra's (Defogger, Rear Wiper, Fog Lamps, Seats etc)
Mileage wise you can expect more or less the same from them all, here the Swift would lead the pack and we have to see how the Palio 1.3mjd will fare.

The fusion TDCi is also a fantastic vehicle but then it again depends on what your requirement is.

If you happen to see the thread on spare parts price, Fusion TDCi is just way too expensive for a car in its segment. Nothing comes close!
