In that case, I have no hesitation in reiterating the Indigo CS - from what I've read elsewhere on this forum; besides - diesel car, will save him some money

Palio 1.1 SLX

Budget 4 to 4.2 lakhs on-road

Comes to 4.3 Lacs onroad. With some good dealer discounts you can bring it still down

Period of usage?
It will be there with him for at least 10years.

Well the current Fiats running on road are a proof about the life of a Fiat car. I am talking about the Fiat 1100D.

No of passengers in car?
4 people in the car

Its spacious enough to accomodate 5

IMO cannot really comment on the Fiat A** and spare parts after to years.

My suggestion is stick on to Maruti/Hyundai/Tata. We will have the guarantee of A** and their spare parts. Is he interested in Sedans/Hatches? If sedans, then Indigo/Esteem (Current). If hatchbacks Swift/WagonR/Santro/i10/New Indica Dicor.
Period of usage?
It will be there with him for at least 10years.
No problem with the availability of spares if he chooses from the above manufacturers.
No of passengers in car?
4 people in the car
The aboe cars can easily sit in 4 people.
Per month travel?
1000kms

As far as Logan is concerned, we do not know how it will turn out. Currently, there is an indication that Renault may walk out of the JV. If this happens, then there ight be problem with the A** and Spare parts availability during the 10 long years.

If you cannot comment, why are you commenting then?

Fiat-Tata Service is decent, may not be good!
Stile was launched only last year (2007), so it will in the market for some more years, Stile will remain as the entry-level hatch from Fiat.

Thanked: Once

i think the indigo(cs)will be the right choice.
one of the latest models, and tatas have survivedin the market for 8 years now.so i dont think the spares/service would be a problem.

what is the source of this 'indication'? would be great if you can share it.

I hope you are not confusing the MM-Renault JV with MM-Renault-Nissan JV.

Krishna -- u are probably the first human being asking for something good for their manager -- u really seem to have a very good rapport with him( or is it her -- then it clears all the confusion ;-) )

btw I would recommend the Indigo CS , for peace of mind, vfm and decent resale

Finneyp: Read between the lines. You will understand.

OT: And what is this some more years. Spell it out. 5/6/7/8/9/10/25/50/100 years? Have you worked in any Automobile company. Do you know how they store the spare parts of the older models? Do you know what will be dies life (used for manufacturing)? There are many more queries which one needs to answer himself. If you know all these things then you will also acknowledge my opinion/comment. If not, then better do not comment.

There is a law/regulation in our country stating that after a Car is stopped being manufactured, the Car maker ought to suppy spares for 10/15 years (not sure the exact years)!

Hope I have made it clear now!
