Look at M800

Since your wife is still learning, a used Maruti 800 would be a better value for money. Spares and servicing are not a problem. you need not bother about the inevitable dents and scratches either. moreover once she gets used to city driving you can sell it off easily to another newbie! M800 does not require power steering, but is still a very nimble runabout!

if you get a Matiz at < 1 Lakh go for it, but you will definitely have problems selling it in future, forget servicing.
