Go for diesel if you want more performance and FE. The petrol variant is good to drive but not as good as diesel. You are changing from a hatch to another hatch. Hope you do not have a big family to take care off during your trips...

One more bit to think about. If you are going for the diesel then go for the vdi.It comes with a tachometer,4-door PW,and many others which is an extra from the ldi.

ram
I was just about the post the same I think these are also considerations that are important enough.

@Ram, what are the other differences as far as similar features are concerned? I do remember that the LDi does not have a rear-defogger or a rear-wiper. (Neither does the VDi, right?)

As a swift Vxi-LDi combo owner, I would suggest you to go for Swift Diesel (either VDi or LDi - depending on the waiting time and budget). Diesel is not only efficient, but easy to drive in the stop/go city traffic.

Go for one which has defogger. I dont have specifications of the swift.
Go in for the diesel as it looks like the car is a long term member of your family so Diesel Ldi or Vdi

Good luck sir! I second Ece2k2... I had a similar dilemma between zxi and vdi and finally went for Vdi for the same reason mentioned by him

Thanks guys...now am more confused...........So test driven both the vehicals and this what i feel.........
Petrol Swift: I feel Its smooth, refined car but the FE is a big concern.
Diesel Swift: Feels like driving a monster, Good FE and Low cost of Diesel.

Here in Goa LDi waitting period is 1 months, VDi is 1.5 months & vDi with ABS is 4 Months:

I dont require all the goodies like key not removed, Seat belt warning ( As I drive always with seat belt on) regarding 4 power windows autocop quoted me 12500/ - + keyless entry with autoroll when locked.

i suggest you to go for the diesel (ldi, vdi)depending on your budget, the economy of diesel will surely put a smile on your face (when you go for a refill)
