friends another question should i buy the car from maruti true value as they give one year warranty . is it good decision. its ok for me to pay 5-6k more as they will give one year warranty hence giving a peace of mind. are there any problems in buying car from maruti true value . they are claiming that they do 120 quality tests.

From personal experience i can tell you, that 120 quality stuff is only on the papers. However, the one year warranty is useful.

I had some problems with certain parts which they got replaced under warranty without giving any troubles or delays.

True value dealers are not supposed to buy cars that have been involved in accidents. And you might be able to verify it by going through insurance premium history (NCB availed on not)

i recently got a Zen LX 2000 model for 1.34lacs (owner was not going down from 1.50lacs)

and in march i sold my 2002 2lac+km done zen for 1.75lac and in chandigarh zen prices have sky rocketed since the zen stopped production

i think 2004 or 2005 zen will be 2lac+ here in chandigarh

as for zen D my frineds wife recently got one for 3.75lac 13k done
if you want i can find you a zen in patiala

finding petrol zen is not much problem but finding diesel zen is difficult. today i went to see a diesel zen but i was dissappointed as it was not in good condition and was 96k on odo , most dissappointing was its price demanded by the owner it was 3lac+ . since a week of finding a diesel zen i dropped idea of diesel as difficult to find . so i decide to get petrol i could get a 2005 model zen petrol in patiala for 2.25 to 2.4 lac depending upon condition.

To get a diesel under 3lac is impossible i have tried very hard to get one but couldn't get one

and as for a 2005 model it would be upwards of 2.60lacs (got a call from the dealer few days ago was a vxi model yellow colour)
would suggest you ony look for the lxi model and if buying from the dealer please look at the lower side of the doors and beware most zen have their speedo turned back

Another option would be the base version of the Spark. They are offering a birthday discount of about 25000/-

the diffence is that the pw are integrated unit in the vxi
in lxi it like a after market unit
vxi has a rear de-fogger
front and rare fog lamps and better interiors

even if you are getting the lx version pick it up as the steering is pretty light

will keep a look out for a good car

AFAIK, the letter 'i' in Lxi/Vxi indicates 'Power Steering'.

A little OT : Think about a Jeep mate !! a well maintained MM540 could be yours for just about a Lakh. Apart from comfort, high speed drives and a little greasy hand, an open Jeep would be awesome to drive around in college...
