Check on the following:

1- the colour (white ones could have been used as taxis even with personal registration numbers
2- Service record (does it show 17k)
3- Tyres - whether they match the OEM - there is a serial number to check

any second hand car which is almost a lakh less than the new one is not worth investing.
I think this holds good here.
Plus this has already run 17k and is almost a year old.
I think it's better to go for a new one, even it does involve a few month's waiting period.

thanks for info guys. I have finally decided to let go the car. With 20K nearing, various filters would be requiring change adding to final cost that i will have to shell out.
