What are the Resale Prices for Palio 1.6\GTX\S10 & Ford Fusion 1.6 ?

Split from Glifford's Thread Hi Glifford Here

A question to you all. Since I've begun my search.

I am not looking at a popular, common car as well (like the Alto, M800 or Santro that most would suggest). With the FIAT craze in my blood, I needn’t look further than the Palio. Esp. in the 1.6 avatar that I had been lusting for ever since it was introduced! I simply couldn’t understand why people bought the 1.2 version (or the Puslar 150 for that matter). Realise it's a very popular car on this forum too!

So that it is. Am on the lookout for a LOVINGLY looked-after Palio 1.6 in stock condition. Have no idea what the prices would be, but maybe you can suggest! Any cars on offer here. Preferences would be for Ferrari Red version or even the S10 if I can find one. Wouldn’t mind also looking at other (rare) alternatives if it can fit in the same budget. How would the Ford Fusion 1.6 sound (another car I really like) or the Petra/Siena or Palio Weekend/Adventure.

Usage for the car would be minimal, restricted mainly to weekends or when guests arrive or a rainy day or some BIG shopping. I guess we will continue to commute by our pairs of wheels for the time being.

What resale values do the following cars command in Bangalore? Assuming pretty decently maintained!

Palio 1.6/GTX/S10: 2003 - 2005 models, sparingly run

and

Fusion 1.6: 2005 models (assuming they are around from that time)

New Cars, Used Cars, Buy Cars, Sell Cars, New Car Prices, Used Car Prices - CarWale.com India seems to show much lower values than what I have found quoted!

Cheers,

Glifford.

Checked out an S10

Ok guys, an update!

Got a chance to check out an S10.
  1. Mid 2003
  2. Barely 16,5xx km run
  3. Second owner, first owner parked it more than ran it.
  4. Lovingly maintained by a very knowledgable second owner who loves Palios.
  5. Paint fairly intact with a few nicks and scratches (attributable to BLR traffic) on doors and bumpers
  6. Little chipped plastic in dash (HU area) and around the RVMs (outside). Little silved pealed off around the AC controls (I notice little things even if they don't matter too much... am like that)
  7. Running original battery and tyres. Suspect both would need replacement soon.. tyres definitely.
  8. Reason for sale. Got another Palio
  9. Drives beautifully, barely heard a creak or two.
Quoting 2.75l

What say?

Go ahead

Hi man,
I am a good friend of that 2nd owner,Mr.Abhishek Tripathi.Am also a member of PUG.But i know that Abi has maintained his S10 very well, but about th HU panel,S10 has a oval shaped cassette player as OE,so putting a CD player is a real challenge. So u have to cut it to put a CD player HU.But i would say go ahead.I was planning for it but i am in need of a Palio D.So i must wait.

Hi Gillford the S10 is really a great car. I myself love the canary yellow S10 and cannot get it off my head even though i just bought a SX4 ZXI. Before this i owned a Palio 1.9D and I still drive my dads Palio 1.2.

I have been asking around the prices of used S10s in Mumbai and havent heard a price of more than 1.75 lakhs. This is primarily due to the high maintainence costs and low resale value of the car. of course i am yet to come across a car thats done as low as 16.5k. But in my opinion 2.75l is a bit steep.

Why dont you also look at the Palio GTX SP. I think they have ABS. while the brakes on the Palio are good ABS makes them really special.

2.75 lakhs for a 2003 Palio is bit expensive. I think 2.25 to 2.5 would be a fair price for a decent one.

Gillford, The S10 from Abhi is very well maintained. I myself own an S10 and can safely say that if you get a chance to own an S10 -- then don't miss it. There is no better VFM hot hatch than S10/1.6 at this point.

Going by the market value, this car is not worth more than 200,000rs.
Of course the emotional value may be much higher.
We resently put up our Palio 2002 model 1.2 for sale, and the highest offer was 110000

I suggest you talk to used car dealers, it makes no sense paying 75K more than the value. After all its your hard earned money.

i got my GTX {June 2003, 44394kms} for 1.75L - so a 2003 car with 16K kms will cost higher IMO.

if you think that the car is worth 2.75L - go for it

I Asked Around for Ford Fusions Here in Ernakulam for a buddy the owners were saying upto 4 lakhs but my friends in the 2nd automobile trade told me that cars are available straight from 3.3 lakhs but there is actually no enquiry or requirement for such a car.

Only in bangalore can you sell a 2003 palio for 2.75L. Even carwale says a max of 1.9L. Realistically i would say 1.75L.
