I do hope Peter might have bought the car of his choice by this time. This is an old thread. And there are only 4 posts posted by him and hope he might also not look at these posts now. If he required he will post in the same thread.

IMO, there is no point in reviving old threads. Just my 2 cents.

@ Mods: Can you lock this read pls. If required the thread starter will ask for reviving this.

IMO, a M800/Zen would be the right choice. Don't think of any thing beyond Maruti as others has explained.
i agree with snaronikar, if u need a trouble free, maintainence free vehicle get 800/zen. my friend got one 800 for 1.05 lacs with fully loaded and that too without a scratch on its body from true value, (marutis own used car network).

You guys would kill me if you knew that I still haven't bought a car. I'm still on the hunt. I have made up my mind and I'm looking for a Palio 1.6 GTX 2002 model for 1.3-1.4 laks. I'm hunting for a decent car and I'm not getting any offers, mumbai and pune. Nobody is willing to sell their car. If anyone comes across any palios for sale, please P.M me. i'm really waiting to get my hands on one.

@prateek: It's 38K on the ODO, checked with the service manuals and I'm convinced that it's not 1.38L .

Palio has got style , it has power , it has just everything which can make any other car in the segment not so capable of. Now you dont even have to worry about the after spares.
Go get it , Palio must be the choice.

At such a mouth-watering price, you get a fully-loaded hatchback that can make many sedans bite the dust on the roads. Congratulations on buying a car that IMO has a definite place in the Automotive Hall of Fame. I doubt if there would be a better deal.

First Experience...

3 days now and I couldn't drive more than 50 kms in the city. I should say it's the best 50kms I've driven till now. The trottle response is too good and the power delivery is amazing. I was driving my dad's GETZ till now and Palio is more of a sports car than the Getz. The Getz still scores in many areas, but when it comes to raw power, Palio is the best.

I do feel the brakes needs some enhancement.. I don't feel comfortable braking at high speeds. It's like the brake's gonna lock up anytime. I read in another post about the brakes in palio. Any tips from the palio users??

I had a long thought before buying the car as palio is known for its poor mileage. I should say, it's really worth spending ur cash on petrol for the pleasure you get out of it.
