Hi Irvin !
I am stuck in very much the same dilemma as you are.

Currently - second hand M 800
Checked - Marina, Getz, Fusion, Innova
Awaited - Swift, Fabia.

Marina was removed from the list for precisely the same reasons as you listed. Getz: Just did not like it overall. Fusion + : I just loved it. But way pricey for the value offered. Innova looks very good. Hoping to test ride it this week as it has not yet started in Pune.

Cheers and Happy hunting !

Never the way the steel prices are rising they will come at a price of a C segment car where people would rather buy a bigger car remember indian theory the bigger the better. The NHC is cheaper then a Jazz in Indoneasia wheras the Jazz is a hatch and the NHC is a sedan
Dont strike the deal in a hurry Irwin. Just decide by when do you want the car and buy which ever is there in the market that time.
Cheers.

Hi,

As I said, I would very much like to own an "INNOVA" it looks good when you look at from the front, the rear is quite bland, the interiors also look good, the quality of upholstery etc. But for a city like Bombay, I guess one needs a compact car to get in and out of traffic and to be able to park in tight spaces (if at all there are any available)
AS for GETZ, Is there any particular aspect of the GETZ you did not like, Did you test drive it? How was the ride and handling and how did you find the performance of the AC.

Please let me know your test drive experience of "INNOVA"

THANKS

I would suggest narrowing down your requirements first. You have an MUV, sedan, hatches and a station wagon - all that were being contemplated. In addition, the Marina and Innova have diesel/petrol powerplants.

Narrow down your choices by the usage pattern - not just the price bracket.

Narrowing down is not easy. Would appreciate your view points.

I am sure many of you would be debating the same: A two car option and "one size fit all" option.

Irwin: Good points on the Innova +s and -s. It kind of fits the 1 car option though (with limitations). Will let you know the details of the test drive experience.

Unorthodox Suggestion

25-50 km/week? That too every alternate month?

Dude why not walk/use public transport/continue with your old car till you are here for the long term? I know this sounds absolutely heretical in a automobile forum...
