well the price Getz is offered right now, its best value for money, acres of space inside, easy to drive and on pocket as well for petrols.Surely this is the same dilema my cousin was when he wanted to replace his getz, but that price range nothing fits else then getz again, he opted for diesel instead.
You can think for chevy Aveo Uva also, gives quite good space inside with their free maintainence package.

@filcord , If you are ok with other companies, some big spacious cars in the 4.5 - 5.5 lac window will be ( in random order )

1. Chevy U-VA - Big spacious hatch
2. Ford Ikon - its a sedan too! it is an upgrade!
3. i20 - Evolutionmary upgrade to Getz
4. Accent - hey ! its another Hyundai, so u ll like the A.S.S
5. Renault Logan 1.4 - Awesome space, very comfortable sedan under 5.5 l
6. Indigo - Again unmatched space

Getz is better than i10 in terms of space.

@filcord

i20 would be a perfect upgrade from getz if you like to stick with hyundai.
But few things you should think are:
1. You might feel i20 1.2 petrol to be underpowered (after getz that is!)
2. you can go the diesel way with i20 crdi, but if i am not mistaken you would like a petrol this time also.
3. i20 1.4 almost solves the puzzle, but its a tad steeply priced, and comes only in A/T (IMO that is a plus point).

Give i20 a thought, its one of teh few world class cars available in India now.

Ritz Zxi gets chosen

Thanks for all the suggestions.
I had to have a hatch, it's the second car in the family, wife drives it, as also a driver with kids to tuitions etc.
The budget was limited to 5.5.. It had to be Hyundai/Maruti/Honda/Toyota - for good service practices and cost of spares.
I almost went in for the Getz GLX, with the ABS, it was coming in at good discounts, then I read in the TOI on the 28th that Getz is being discontinued by Hyundai.
That led me straight to consider the Ritz. Took a test drive, with the wife sitting behind and when she proclaimed the space was enough in the back, booked the Zxi right away.

congrats. Ritz ZXi has all the right goodies a new gen car should have.
Once you get the engine/chassis number of your car, just run a check that your ride does not fall under the ones recalled by MSIL for a driveshaft problem. I guess we have a thread here on that.
