baleno altura vs fusion

hey, i own a baleno altura, its getting old now, and is rattling somewhat. + dad finds it 2 big. we plan on selling it and getting a old fusion(then get it fitted with cng) is this a wise decison?
in performance, will the fusion petrol + be better than the baleno.
also how old a fusion can i buy, i believe there were some changes in the car.

You can go for Boleno. But Go for a Good one if you are going for 2nd. Driving and Comfort is very nice in this car. Seat height and the Car height is pretty comfortable.
I am not sure about the CNG Conversion.
But its a real Good car in this Segment.

With due respect, did you even bother to read the opening post properly? He ALREADY has a Baleno. And wants to know if he should swap it with a Fusion.

@ Sukrit : I don't know if its a wise decision to trade in your Altura for the Fusion. The Baleno has a better engine, reliability, fuel efficiency and road manners. These factors will be sorely missed in the Fusion. Plus, I doubt you'd get a decent resale buck on the Altura. Estates aren't exactly popular in India. I'd suggest sprucing up your Baleno and using it for a couple more thousand kms before upgrading for something you really like. New in the showroom.

I have driven both, and I think the Baleno is far better to drive than the fusion, have you test driven the fusion as yet? Also ford parts prices are crazy. You`ll get hardly anything for the altura, but then a used fusion will also come cheap.

Keep the Baleno Sukrit. That is far better than the Fusion. You will not like to bulky feeling of the Fusion and also weird road sense that it has. Another thing is the fuel efficiency. Baleno provides with very good FE which you will miss big time in Fusion.

Regards,
Kailash

Can you elaborate on why you think Fusion has bulky feeling? And what is weird about it's road sense.
I am just curious. I know the steering of Fusion is realtively little heavy in slow speeds but am not ware of any other issues. Many reports said it is a fun to drive vehicle.

In india, F-O-R-D is spelt R-I-P-O-F-F.
Only skoda is worse.

what are you looking for in your new car ?

If you are planning to sell Baleno Altura and getting old Fusion, then IMHO, please aviod this move if possible.
Ford Fusion has many negatives, despite the fact that it in production.

1) Both cars have high priced spares, the Ford more so.
2) Both the cars are not successful, but Baleno has got a bigger following, and so more people can solve a query if you have ( technical ).
3) This is decesive factor : After Sales and Service. Ford is not good here. Maruti is better.

I would say buy good 4-5 year old Honda City, which you will get for 3-4 lakhs and still less running cost then FORD.
Man FORD share value in US is Just above $2 stay away

My manager got a 2nd hand ikon 1.6 for 1.2 lakh. at the time , i thought it was a steal. 60K worth of repairs later, i think the steal was for Ford A.S.S

Clearly the pros outweigh the cons, my recommendation to stay with Altura over buy Fusion!
+A.S.S (big time)
+power
+handling
+FE
+cheaper running costs
=exclusivity (both gets you)
-resale loss (and additional capital to bridge for Fusion)
-GC
-bulky

The power is comparable and Fusion should match the baleno Altura. (Sedan would be little quicker).
Fusion feels little lethargic bellow 1500 RPM but has a good torque which makes it tractable in city speeds.

I dont know why every one is Against Fusion. But I feel it has a good driving feel. As we know that we are always struck to our traditional one most people will be not rethink to move to some other company apart from Maruti.
I agree that the maintainability may be a bit higher than Maruti. But Ford has improved a lot compare to before.
Thanks
