SWIFT ABS booking stopped ??

A maruti official said that they are currently not taking booking for swift ABS
(dzire zdi booking has already stopped) since they are finding it difficult to source ABS kits and currently they have a huge waiting list for ABS.
So i was advised to book VDi without ABS .what i was told is that with present situation they cannot deliver Vdi ABS in next 6 months.
Even though the delears are saying 2.5 months for VDi ABS here.
Can anybody please enlighten on this?

Boss,

I can tell you that there is a bigtime crunch. What that translates into additional waiting is completely unpredictable. as is swift vdi+abs is low on the abs priority (sx4, swift zxi has it). I have changed my booking for the same reason, despite jugaad.

Yes since its India there is an ABS kit crunch as safety is given less priority because of cost. Does Suzuki has similar issues in European countries ? I think they shouldn't be as the laws there are more stringent for safety issues.

Guys if i thought wrong does anyone who regularly visits other countries or any Bhpian residing abroad has heard any such ABS kit crunch for suzuki.

My Friend got delivery of his Swift ZXi Yesterday. He did not have any problem with his car. Of course, it was petrol...

I guess Maruti is facing tremendous demand for the Swift VDI, so theres all kinds of excuses being made to ensure that customers dont opt for that. Reason for saying so is that there is no shortage of ABS for SX4. So, why should there be a shortage of ABS kits only for a particular model? Sounds fishy to me.

If I am not mistaken Bosch is the only supplier of ABS in India. It is quite possible the two have been engaged in some protracted price negotiation and what you are apparently being told by dealership has no connection with the behind the scenes realities. Is Maruti the only company that's affected? What's the scene with Hyundai?

From what I have been told, ABS kits are procured from Suzuki Japan and not locally. The supply is apparently limited(God knows why) and Swift DDiS is the lowest on the list in the factory when it comes to fitting ABS kits. Preference is given to the petrol models which probably makes more profit for MUL and the dealers when sold in Zxi variants.

Bosch to make ABS at Chakan

This is an old news that came up when I searched for "Bosch ABS India" on google. I don't know the current status of the Chakan production facility.
I very sincerely doubt that Suzuki manufactures ABS.

It is difficult for dealerships to order the ABS variants so it can be a dealer's tactic to divert your mind.

nahin sarkar,

I have done extremely hard pushing in maruti personally at some decent levels so can confirm that swift non-zxi will have massive delays.

Iv probably posted this on 5 other threads... ABS kits are sourced from SGP Japan. Priority goes to the Swift ZXi / Dzire & SX4 as it comes as standard kit.
