since Vista Quadrajet has the MJD engine, i suppose Pete's shouldnt be a problem, unless the Pete's Box is programmed as per the ECU of the car. In this case they have to sell a 'box suitable for Vista's ECU.

yaar, tuning box my rearside. Getz is cheaper now, and that engine, that build is tough to beat. Please understand that Tata will remain tata and with all the cost cutting. I would much rather go for the Getz, the Ikon or the Palio.

I'm using Getz Petrol.
Build quality is amazing. Car takes any amount of abuse.
Hyundai provides a great service backup. I guess premium paid justifies.
14K kms in 5 months and counting

14K kms in 5 months on a petrol vehicle with not-that-great FE???? you could have paid a li'l more premium and gone for Getz CRDI!

Buying a petrol was a mistake.

(Many friends suggested Diesel car, but i wasn't keen on buying Indica, i was cramped for space inside a swift, Getz CRDi was way beyond my reach.)

But i guess i got to live with it till few more 10's of thousands of kilometers.

am getting a regular F.E of 13 kmpl in city with AC
and 14 kmpl without AC on the Highway.

It has been tortured over bad road, fully loaded and it didn't complain.

Only thing i disliked about Getz was its stock headlight.

Hope this thread is still active.

Gets is a complete car. Its is properly designed and offers comfort and safety

Vista is a car engineered to provide more space per car. And the MJD engine moves that big space with amazing torque.

If you want mileage and dont care about completeness of a car then go for Vista. If you are a car enthusiast, who expects perfection from a car then go for Getz.

Will this debate ever come to an end? Will we ever come to some kind of a conclusion?
I very much doubt that, because both the cars have their respective pros & cons. The 1 thing that goes in favor of the Vista is its age.... Oh God! I have re-ignited the fire... again!!!

My 2 Cents

Hi guys,

To add to the debate, my 2 cents

i am a getz CRDI owner (10K Kms, 9 Months old)
upgrade the footwear to a 205/50 - 15

am still unable to let go off the power.
I take my car out religiously every alternate night for a spin on the ring road.
and the whoosh and the speed is just too much

had 2 accidents with the car. and the car body barely had a dent (good quality)

yes, it does have minus points but come on guys!!!!!!!!

Saving up Vit M for a PETEs!!!!!!!!

p.s. - want know how?? well, Citibank debits 1K every month from my salary
for a FD which matures on Sept 2009 giving me almost 30K!!!!!!!cheers:

the only minus points i see in Getz CRDI are the brakes and lack of OEM equipment for the price they charge. other than that I too think is a great car.

before Pete'ing it, ensure the brakes and/or tyres are good enough for the extra punch.
