J/k Congrats mate. And its always fascinating to see a car with new alloys. Also what about damages. How much for the tyres and the alloys.

Well since the car has barely covered any real millage, she's pretty much still a virgin, don't bother playing around with the engine. You can definitely achieve your power targets with smart tuning.

# ECU - A definite YES, it will go a long way to achieving your end goal, also consider tuning it for higher octane fuel (ie: 91/speed, power, xtra) The swift is pretty efficient anyway.
# Maybe individual throttle bodies - NO! Please don't make this mistake. Your car is not for the track. ITBs will make it worse to drive, and aggravate your back pain.
# FFE - Definite yes. A stage 1 with a ECU remap or standalone should easily see you through a 20-30% power gain over stock (you could remap to use 97 octane and gain a lot more, but that'll be heavy on the wallet)
# Custom gearbox - sure you won't put out more hp because of this, but shorter gearing is more fun to drive, and it'll cope better with increased power. See if you can throw in an open or limited diff in there, will really make her a lot more fun.
# Upgrade Clutch - no real need to do so, other than the fact that Maruti clutches are made of ghee

not bad, looks like a copy of the BBS RS design, which is most definitely a classic! Please do post more about the ECU and FFE, also do for a CAI, it'll help a bit more with the ECU and FFE. Definitely will show more gains

add the following to make the car look meaner:

1. original moulded mud flaps

2. tint the glasses.

3. better number plates (and)

4. take off the bumper protectors..they don't go too well with the car

These mud flaps came with the car, as in OE fitment

2. tint the glasses.
Not too fond of tints, but just may go for a very light grey

3. better number plates (and)
Are on the way

4. take off the bumper protectors..they don't go too well with the car
Came as is, don't much care

Tentative plans :

# Stay with the present engine (it's done 30K)
# Porting polishing (the real stuff unlike the Lancer)
# FFE
# ECU
# The clutch is almost new, (upgrade later)
# Short ratio gearbox

Fact is right now there is serious cash flow issues, so may go at it in stages. Would eventually want a TCing job (IF it is reliable)

What kind of a budget should I be keeping for the above mods ?? Are the above going to do enough to justify the expenses ?

Any suggestions are welcome.

Cheers

The Swift just got back from it's 1st service. Although there was nothing to complain about, but the drive is smoother, the clutch is set better, once in a while jerkiness in low RPM is gone. No rattles & squeaks.

Overall a great job. Ya I checked about the mudflaps. The new model ones pictured above cannot be fitted to an older model :-(

Cheers

Apparently the guys at the Competent Motors think otherwise. I was willing to pay. But they said - not possible...

I am cool with it !!

Phew! happy that it will be modded for power. Was wondering how it can/will be a stock car.

IIRC, Leela still does TC Swift which can be daily drive for 1.5lac and TCing should be an issue for Swift.
