Opinions/Reviews about Ford Fusion TDCi

One of my colleagues is looking to buy a Ford Fusion. He likes the car for its practicality and space. The diesel heart is another thing that he finds attractive. To cut it short, he really likes the car and wants to buy it. But at the same time he has some queries that he needs answer for. Would be glad if any of the Fusion owners can chip in with answers. Here we go -

What would be the on road price in Chennai (diesel version)
How are the expenses on service and maintenance
What fuel efficiency does it give
How is the availability of spares for the car (in case Ford stops selling it)
He really wanted air bags, but since there are no air bags in the Fusion, he wants to know how safe is the car - let's say from a braking, crash protection etc. angle ( apparently, his time is not good! , so needs a safe car)

Any reviews, opinions - please pour in! Will be very helpful for my friend to help choose.
