Thats a very interesting point. Maybe FIAT have played with the settings that are unleashed at the first service.

I was hugely dissapointed with the noise of the Punto during my TD

congrats Forerunner on your purchase of the DeZire.

+1 Amogh, My GP has also crossed the 3000kms mark and I feel the engine is a lot more refined and silent for sure.

Thanks Gods!. Can any one tell me, is that extra 80K(Swift Vs Dzire) for the boot is really justifiable?

^^90k extra ; Depends .
In General Indian Context
A hatchback is a small car whil dzire(swift+boot) = lambi gaadi means more status.
+ 90k - You also get integrated audio , bodycolor mirrors and handles,boot space.
And most importantly status.
After all we dont have much buyers for the premium hatches yet
Jazz is expensive than SX4 Zxi

@forerunner

I don't care about the lack of boot space in my punto since I am the only one who uses the car. If I need boot space to carry some stuff around, I just fold the rear seats and that serves the purpose.

If the rear seats of your car are going to be occupied and you are required to carry substantial amount of luggage : yes, you will need a Sedan.

But for 2 people + luggage : a hatchback with foldable rear seats should suffice.

About the justifiability of the 80k for the boot : I really don't know. But as k2max6 has rightly pointed out : some buy the Dzire (even though they don't need the boot !!) just because they want the "Sedan" status.
