I dont think they make s10's or the GTX anymore but you can just give it a try with the dealers in Mumbai, they could just have one somewhere.
Dont ever buy an old stock car. I had checked a 1.6 Palio myself and it was falling apart even before having a registration number.

Getz for complete peace of mind and zero risk factor.
With the Palio the risk factor rises.

My mom wants a Skoda Fabia preferably with the 1.8 TPI (not TDi) engine. She wont leave my RS alone! Thanks god she finds is a tad too big or i'd be back in my Astra!

My FlL does not want a car with a trunk. He is leaning towards the Swift Zxi. Does it come with an Auto box? The dealer I spoke to in Andheri East does not know!

can we by any means expect fabia in next two-three months? then, i can surely slow down my activities for swift.....fabia Vs. swift will definately be something maruti would not want

btw....i dont think they are going to plonk 1.8 tpi...( too much to ask for in indian market..aint it??) ...it could be something lesser..like 1.9 TDI ( 100 bhp!!!) .....
link to engine options in uk:

and what pricing to expect ???

No that's the reality. In a different thread you see the BHP'ians writing down their waiting time for Swift. Maruti may lose customers because of this waiting time. I personally would go for other options, if the waiting time were of this sort

Don't you find a better alternative for Swift & Getz?

Aveo launch is round the corner .. it seems to be a very promising car ,specially with GM pricing its products very aggressively already has made an impression with the Optra ..

I would suggest a crdi hatch . One will be launched soon.

they are almost as powerful as petrol counterparts
they are more fuel efficient
Diesal is cheaper.

Dude wait for a crdi diesel hatch.

please do take into consideration, if waiting for the Skoda FABIA, that the spare parts prices will be exorbitant, just like the Octavia. This i have confirmed with the right sources.

it wont be as costly as the Octavia's, but will be proportionately costly.

but u could wait for the Fiat IDEA, or the Chevy AVEO which might come here anytime in the first quarter of 2006!

runing costs are a seperate issue. IMO fabia can literally kill the compitition if manufactured in india itself ( that way, spare problem may reduce to a large extent). otherwise as well, it will definately be a success like the octavia. skoda cars have some character, which appeals the young executive..to the old man.
