My car color is black and interiors are blue, so seat covers will be black + blue.

I have not driven either of the cars, so can't comment on that. Why aren't you considering i10 era or i10 kappa magna?

where as on a star its only 10k.

my usage will be only weekends drive through the city and rarely to mysore or ooty from blore.
I don't think the Wagon-R is going to be discontinued. For sure it will get a new BS4 engine shortly alongwith a minor facelift. The Wagon-R in its current form is an excellent vehicle for in-city driving because of its narrow dimensions. It has excellent all-round visibility. Pretty decent legroom (front + rear) and a very usable boot.

Another car to consider would be the i10 ERA which is priced at almost par with the Wagon-R vxi. The i10 also comes with a 30k discount IIRC. Its a modern vehicle with a decent engine and overall again is great for in-city usage.

Cheers
