Hi guys!

Terribly sorry for the delay! I've been quite busy this week hence, inactive as well! The booking and formalities have been complete but there is some sort of delay in the delivery process. My dad is keeping mum about it and I have no clue why! But it should arrive this week and I can't wait any longer! Pictures and an Initial Report are on the cards as promised!

We're going in for Deep Sapphire Blue and we're also getting a bucket-load of accessories. In fact, it's the accessories that are pushing the delivery date further and further away! Most of them aren't in stock, apparently!

Congrats buddy!
Which other accessories have you opted for apart from the alloys?? And when is the expected delivery date?

We've opted for a the 'Active' kit that includes: Aluminum sports pedals, tail-gate spoiler, side-step garnish front and rear, interior panel visor meter and outlet ring with silver finish, front grill and fog lamps. All this sans the front grille. The 'Active' package's grille, when installed, makes the Jazz look like it has braces! We should take delivery sometime this week, hopefully. Fingers crossed! Don't want any more delays!

Guys,

Our spanking new Deep Sapphire Blue Honda Jazz arrived this evening. We took it straight to the Temple and performed the pooja before taking her for a long drive. I will update with pictures and a full report within the next few days! Watch this space!

Opening up Suhaas's old thread, as I did not know, where to put this.
The question he posed, is exactly what I was thinking, but in the current context.

The thought process is the following:

1. No apprehensions between Petrol and Diesel.
Because, since money is no bar, diesel would be welcome for enthusiast.
(Total distance travelled not being the diesel deciding factor).

2. My personal opinion if one wants the best petrol and a loaded hatch, JazzX is the best. (Open to criticisms). Who are contenders? I20 Asta, Polo Highline 1.6 and Fabia 1.6 and Punto 90BHP. So how does this equation change?

If one adds Honda services into equation compared to VW/Skoda, does it still tilt it the Honda way?

3. Looking at Diesel, No second guesses for me. I would vote for I20 ASTA CRDI. Now Punto MJD is one serious contender, but for me it gets edged out due to I20's equipment list and the richness of interiors.

4. I have not listed Ritz/Swift only due to the fact that their quality of interiors will not match up to the above guys.

5. Hence the final shoot-out for me comes between I20 Diesel versus Jazz X.

So going by requirements, if one wants good highway performance, diesel tends to edge out the petrol marginally. I also see I20 has a higher GC (Not sure about suspensions).

This may be comparison of Apple versus an Orange, but I feel its pertinent.
Please provide your feedbacks and counter arguments. That would be very helpful.

I read elsewhere in the forum on i20 issues with steering column. Jazz may be a more refined vehicle.

But, having said that, I have rarely spotted a Jazz on the highway. Does that tell something?

BTW, why not the Yeti? I know it is not a hatch in the pure sense of the word. But, since we are comparing apples vs oranges, why not?

If budget is indeed not a constraint you should go for the Honda Jazz which is the best in terms of comfort, refinement and safety.

Though price is not the limit, Yeti is a different segment and double the price!
I have no idea about I20 issues on steering column.

Also, have Jazz owners ever felt, the engine to choke on highways? (Due to smaller displacement). From that point of view, I thought I20 Diesel would a killer combo with all the loaded features.

The reason why one may not see Jazz on highways, is because, it does not sell enough due to price.

+1 to that.

If budget is not a constraint the Jazz wins hands down. Its a Honda and they are one of the if not THE best Petrol engines around in that segment.
