1.6 palio's(tough to find one ,since most of them are abused) in general give an average of 7-9 in the City(thats what you get on a Honda Accord Manual) and around 13-14 in the Highway compared to the 12-13 in The city of the 1.2 and 15-17 on Highways(1.2 owner and i can vouch for this).

Just a small bump, honeybee.

Which car did you finally buy?

I, unfortunately had the one with the D9 ECU. And I can tell you with some conviction that it makes for a very sluggish drive in city conditions, even frustrating at times. The D9 variant was a lot more smoother and refined than the D8 though, the clutch was also lighter. But it lacked the low end throttle response of the D8. I once drove my car back to back with D8 and that car just put a smile on my face.
Roms, I have a 1.2 ELX NV which I purchased on 31.03.2005. It was BS II compliant only. However ECU reads D9. Any clue why?

Re: Swapping a Santro Xing for a Fiat Palio 1.2 EL

Sorry for the delayed update:

Life got so hectic I had to drop all thoughts of owning a Fiat. I traded in my Santro for a brand new Nano LX last year, which is as good as the Santro, just a tad smaller.
