Re: City Hatch as an alternative to Scorpio!

Thanks a lot buddy. But Tata-Fiat dealers are acting strange.

Those who, till yesterday, were saying that the car is readily available & waiting period is only 10 days, are suddenly telling me that white 90 hp punto is not available & waiting period is a month!!!

Fiat India

The above is the link for the highest level of contact with the company. If you feel you are still interested in the car, make your annoyance with this kind of mis-statements felt where the buck stops.

If they value your money and the business you are going to give them, they will make make it obvious. If not, you are better off as you have still not committed your money to their product.

Re: City Hatch as an alternative to Scorpio!

Thanks a lot guys. Finally I booked a white punto today.

Make : Fiat
Model : Punto
Variant : 90 hp (Emotion Pack)
Fuel : Diesel
Booking Date : 11/1/11
Color : Bossa Nova White
Expected Delivery Date : 27/1/11
Dealer & City : Wasan Motors, Mumbai
Freebies : Free extended warranty + Roadside Assistance + Floor Mats (I refused mud flaps which were offered)
Others : Cash discount of Rs. 13,000

I got the cheapest offer from Wasan & hence I booked the car from there. Accessories purchased were scuff plates (Rs. 380) & reverse sensor (Rs. 5000). But i forgot the ask whether the sensors would be body coloured or black! If its black, I would cancel the reverse sensors.

Re: City Hatch as an alternative to Scorpio!

Congrats and good choice. You will find the car slow and the engine loud. But just wait till 3000kms and see the difference.

Also if the sensors are black get a reverse camera instead a little screen on the dash.

Another thing you should upgrade asap are the speakers.

congrats raj_5004, great choice. I am sure it will serve you well in the long term. I hope Fiat does well and delivers to you in Jan itself. Please put up pics when done and follow the PDI checklist from tbhp

Congratulations Raj. It was truly a bold decision to get arguably the best looking hatch in India.

Could you please mention the final on-road price?

I dont like a reverse camera, I personally find it useless.

I asked the guys about the colour of the sensors, they said it will be black. I was cancelling my order of the sensors to which they said they will order white coloured sensors for me. I will still check the sensors before installation, to be on the safer side...

Congrats Raj, I am sure you will be delighted using the most powerful D hatch in India

I spoke to Gurgaon Dealer today and he said if I go for 2011 model then OTR will be 7.50L - corp. discount else for 2010 it will be 7.05 - corp. discount.

Re: City Hatch as an alternative to Scorpio!

Hey Raj, if you are a type who could capture the place before taking reverse, then I think you don't need reverse sensors, or should I say you don't need to have them for Punto which has relatively shorter dimensions. Personally, I don't find them useful and I don't trust them too as my friend recently banged his Linea onto a lamp post inspite of his car having reverse sensors.

And as I mentioned in one of my posts, do a thorough PDI. Pls. check my penultimate post to this.

Honestly, I am used to reverse sensors in my scorpio & innova. I dont rely on them but I use them as a backup safety device just in case i missed out something...
