Independent garage : New Mars (Kukatpally, Hyderabad)

New Mars motors is suggested for most makes of cars for competent owner and well equipped workshop. Excellent paint booth and body shop. Spares are reasonably priced. I don't know about support for insurance claims etc. 7-8/10

Services offered:
General / accident / vintage car service
Denting , painting

What I like:
Owner is an auto engineer himself.
Very well equipped workshop.
Body shop located away from main workshop only for body works.
Genuine accessories in stock for most makes. If not, sourced promptly.

What I don't like:
Billing missed out changed parts

Quality rating 8 / 10.

Pricing: Reasonable.

Speciality / USP:
Outstanding paint job !
Can work on imported cars also as i have learned.

Been here recently, very impressed with the paint quality, exceptional paint job seen on some cars done here (not seen before). When my 3B is ready for paint I know where I will be taking it.

USP- The man himself is involved in customer care and passionate about cars.

My Alto is gleaming and shining after its makeover at New Mars.

Mr Pabhu did the total denting and painting in a flat 96 hours (includes a sunday).

Will soon post a few photos here to show the work quality.

Special thanks to Pulsar56 for leading me to New Mars!

Last Wednesday, as a result of carelessness+fatigue+bad luck+darkness, I ended up with this in a car park.
Independent garage : New Mars (Kukatpally, Hyderabad)-fenderdoor.jpg
Banged into a parking lot divider that was just short enough to be in a blind spot for my mirror.

On Thursday, I took the car to New Mars. Was told the cost will come to around 6,000 and it will take one day.
Dropped off the car at 9:15 AM on Friday morning.
Picked it up at 6:00 Pm the same day.
Bill was Rs 6,006.

The front fender was replaced and it was painted.
The dent on the front door was removed and entire door repainted.

Attaching the pics for you to check the color matching.

While my camera shows a slight difference in color, it actually does not appear as such in real life.
There is a very mild difference. And I guess its more due to a richer shine in the new paint.

If you notice there is a car reflected in the panels. It is very nice that the lines of the reflected car are maintained across the panels.
I like that.

I am happy with the quality of work.

hyd_traveller your car almost looks just out of showroom. New Mars surely have done a great job. Regarding the time taken i think nowadays its the heated paint booth chamber which dries and bonds the car's paint in 24hrs. So time for the paint job mainly depends on the physical condition of the car which includes the tinkering work and all. BTW do share the total cost of the work.

Thanks samsag.
Photographs do not do justice. Seeing the actual car is believing. I am in the clouds ever since the car came back.
No idea of how the job was done since I did not visit the Body Shop at all.

As I do not believe in paying odd and change amounts when it comes to money ... unlike Bblost who paid the odd 6 when his bill came to 6006 ... I paid 23,000 round figure for all round denting and painting and also repairs to the damaged bumpers (both) and adjustment to the hatch and some more small and odd jobs. Pending stuff is replacing the hatch's shockers which will smoothen closing the hatch door, replacing the remote boot opener wire and number plate.

23000 Rs for this type of paint job is just perfect if work of tinkering is included. BTW how much has the car clocked on the odo.
You must be very particular about the car after its paint job. Take good care of it and don't just rub off the body while cleaning. Wax it or get it waxed once in a month to maintain the shine and gloss and keep admiring her.

It is a November 2001 model and has clocked 34,218 as of last night.

Check out the left corner of the rear bumper and you will see some black ...

Well, a Fiesta rubbed my parked Alto at a railway station within a week after the paint job was completed. The police inspector there and then collected 500 from the Fiesta owner towards damages which I have donated to the nearest temple right there.

Re: Independent garage : New Mars (Kukatpally, Hyderabad)

As everyone has already stated about the quality of the mechanical and body work, I won't repeat that as I wholly agree with that.

Recently I was at New Mars and since the car was dirty, I asked to get it washed.

The major problem that I face with any washing place in Hyderabad, including the M&M ASC is the guy not wiping the glass clean properly thereby leaving water marks. This was the best wash the Bolero has got in Hyderabad and all the glasses were absolutely clean with no water mark. One can straight away drive in the night without any problem.

One word, New Mars is highly recommended!

Good Service and Pricing

As suggested here by the Gurus,I took my Palio MJD for service and came back with a happy car! Mr.Shanmugappa, the SA was good and very helpful.
All the niggling problems rectified and the car was back with the grunt it had 2 services back!!The earlier services were done in TASS.
Mr.Shankar the mechanic did a good job of adjusting the clutch, headlamp beam, door pad noise,WB/WA and the rattling in the boot.
Pricing was also good for:
General Service - 600/,WA/WB - 350/,Door adjustment - 200/ apart from Oil filter and Engine oil - Mobil Delvac Super (920 for 4.5L) - I doubt this quantity.
The Total billing came to 3200/ .
Earlier TASS had charged 4500/ with soiled seats, rough engine and air filter assembly rattling like a tractor! Now MARS took care with those.
Definitely Recommended!!
