Need some advice on delivery date price on ANHC

Hello friends,

We booked honda city S-MT at on road price of 10.45 with a bunch of goodies,
like free-insurance, fog-lamps, seat-covers etc. etc.

However, the car is due for delivery tomorrow/day-after and dealer claims that it is also registered (apparently yesterday). Though we had given him the DD on Sat.

Now the issue that has come up is honda has decreased the prices considerably. For this model, the price difference is about 56K. However, dealer is saying that we can get a 45k cash discount total of last month's on on-road price (i.e., 10.76 w/o discount). We are of the opinion that we should be given some of these goodies (like fog-lamps etc.) because they were promised from the dealer. Insurance and extended warranty was free from honda and we have to pay for them now. However, that still turns out to be cheaper for us. We going to check with other hidden things about the new price tomorrow.

I wanted some erly advice on how to deal with this situation. Esp. because, the * says that prices during delivery are applicable. Yet another *says that prices at the time of registration.

Should we go ahead and take the car and raise a ticket with honda? Or should we refrain from taking the delivery before this is addressed to our satisfaction? What is the best thing to do now.

We had booked the car looking at lot of freebies. Now, dealer seems to deny the whole list if go with new price/offer. Our argument is that the price drop is from honda and dealer still has his margins in which he can fit the same list of accessories. But, we have give him the DD and he claims car is registered in our name.

Experts, please advice.

If the car is registered then nothing can be done. Ask the dealer to show you the registration receipt. If car is not registered then you can negotiate with dealer and Honda separately to see what can be done in your case.

PS - Just ask some other dealer as if you are buying a car to see if they offer discounts even after price reduction.

I have the same opinion. If the car has already been registered, and the billing has been done in your name, its difficult to change the deal now.

Re: Need some advice on delivery date price on ANHC

Go thru' the last few posts on :

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/sedans...ml#post2392770

A few members who are in a similar situation spoke to their dealers and these are the 2 options :
1) whatever discount/freebies you have been offered till now; including 1 Re insurance, Honda loyalty bonus etc. which is working out to 45k in your case.

2) forget all the goodies, take the diff. in OTR price now.

So, sit down with the dealer's rate sheet and the invoice you have already received and run a comparison of the final cost in both cases. Then you can decide. As @mdsaab found out, he was getting a lesser discount if he considered the price after reduction. It is quite possible that you were getting a better deal before the price reduction.

The bitter truth is that whether you look at it from this side of the coin or the other.
It almost the same deal.
Infact in my case the deal before the price cut was sweeter than the price reduction deal.
Check out the New car price check thread as well as the Honda city price slash thread.
Hope you get the issue sorted out with the dealer.
It is a bit tough once those buggers have the money in their hands.
Good Luck!
Congratulations!

Re: Need some advice on delivery date price on ANHC

Thanks guys.

Looks like the car was invoiced and registered on monday. We also liked the old deal. Here are the details for others help.

Old price was 10.76. We were offered @ 10.45 with the following freebies,
- fog lamps (about 20k)
- reverse parking sensor (5.5k)
- 2 years extended warranty and road side assistance (counting because now it is chargeable at 12 k)
- Sunfilms (5.5k)
- side protect (6k)
- teflon coating (5-6k)
- seatcovers (7k)

New price is 9.97 w/o extended warranty.

So, it looks like we were paying 48k more for things worth 55k. Now, these are all approximate prices as claimed by the dealer. But, I think we'll buy most of these at these prices.

I think the other two thing that complicated this discussion was,
- The fact that the dealer had apparently fixed most of these accessories and they would not be taken back and we may have pay for them.
- The registration and vat were on the invoice price. Hence this difference reduced further.

We are planning to take the delivery tomorrow.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts.
