Maruti opens 1000th Showroom!

High Points

- Maruti Suzuki unveiled its 1000th showroom - Comet Motors - in Surat (Gujarat).

- The company intends to continue spreading its network in tier-II & tier-III cities.

- Target in the next 5 years is to double the sales network. Translated, 2000 outlets by 2016!

- Maruti has also started upgrading its older showrooms.

They surely have come a long way - atleast in the quantity department. Regarding quality of the dealers, well they could ensure better service.

When we bought our 1st Suzuki in 1985, there was only 1 dealer for Assam (guess more or less for other states too) located at Gauhati. Since we stayed 350-odd kms away, we did an overnight bus journey to take delivery. Funny when I think of it today.

For comparisons sake, any idea how many service centers do Tata and Hyundai have ?

Hey, that is where we have booked our New Swift. It was already functioning as a Maruti Authorized Service Station and will now be a dealer as well.

Maruti is expanding sales network in Mumbai too.

They opened a new showroom in Western suburbs (Raghuleela Mall).

I live in the suburb of Chromepet and they very recently opened a swanky showroom there as well (Vishnu Maruti).
