Dealer arrested for selling the Swift & Dzire without booking, at a "black" premium

I couldn't find another thread to report the below mentioned link. Mods, please merge with the appropriate thread if it exists.

A dealership in Chandigarh was rounded up for selling Swift and Dzire illegally to persons out of the queue. Whats more, they even issued fake documents to enable registration. Fortunately, it did not go through.

I am sure there are large number of rogue dealers across India involved in such unethical practices. We Indians love corruption.

Re: Dealer arrested for selling the Swift & Dzire without booking, at a "black" premi

Although it is a known fact that many dealers do provide early delivery of vehicles by charging a premium, but it used to go undetected as the wrong doings were limited at the dealer only. In this surprisingly the dealer managed to get the vehicles registered, definitley there must be some insider man at the RTO who had faciliatated this. Why didnt the RTO take any action in this case?

The modus operandi at the dealer must have been going on for some time now I guess, it came into light recently. Online tracking system in such cases are helpful where the customer can track the delivery of their vehicle, sadly not promoted by car manufacturers.

The demand for diesel cars specially Swift & Dzire is very high in the rural belts of Punjab, lot of dealers do the deeds. The mindsets are such that they do not even try out other cars in the segment. Backwardness coupled with lack of quality education & exposure play their part.
