CarZ, a multi-brand car repair and maintenance services company, has announced a franchisee program under the brand name CarZ Xpress. The company plans to open about 100 franchises in the next 36 months.



CarZ claims that the CarZ Xpress franchise network will offer quick repair & maintenance services cost effectively with quick turn-around times. Each facility shall have diagnostic and repair equipment along with trained manpower. The first outlet of CarZ Xpress was launched recently in Hyderabad, Telangana.

Franchisees will be provided support at all stages from planning to operation by a team of trained industry experts in the areas of:

• Site selection & facility set up
• Training and continuing education
• Operational support
• Spares sourcing support
• Marketing material and aids
• Proprietary shop management software
• Marketing and branding support
• Customer relationship management

CarZ currently operates 12 company-owned 'Grande' facilities in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. These facilities offer repair services for all makes and models of cars. These services include routine and preventive maintenance, electrical and mechanical repair, accident repair – denting and painting, tyres and services, battery, styling and performance accessories, interior and exterior detailing, extended warranty and nationwide 24x7 road-side assistance. The company plans to continue to increase the number of Grande facilities as well.

IMHO the multi brand servicing concept is simply not going to work out in a market like India for a variety of reasons as follows:
1.Absolutely no support from OEMs for spares (because the multi brand concept goes against their own interests)
2.Lack of proper training for the manpower
3.Possibility of voiding the manufacturer warranty keeps a lot of customers away, atleast for the first couple of years of ownership.

This is the reason we are yet to see one multi brand car servicing company doing well in India.

Same concept by CARNATION AUTO INDIA already closed in Amritsar and may be in many other cities of Punjab. It was founded by Ex-Maruti man Mr. Jagdish Khattar. There is need of after warranty service centers but i wonder why they are shutting. IMHO one should case study Carnation Auto before opting for Carz Express franchise.

Totally agree. Even the Mahindra First Choice multibrand workshop in Andheri, Mumbai is closed now.
