Maserati is gearing up to inaugurate its new showroom in Mumbai. This showroom is coming up in the new Taj hotel which is going to open near the airport. It will be run by run by Ahmedabad-based Group Planet Petal.



The showroom is getting ready and will display all four models that the company sells in India. These include the Quattroporte and Ghibli sedans, the GranTurismo sports coupe and the GranCabrio cabriolet.



Rumours suggest that these cars are already at the Mumbai docks.

Generally i would call this a brilliant move considering most/all passengers departing and arriving would lay their eyes on the beauties. Talk about brand visibility..quite literally !

However i question the timing of this since the phased moving out of airlines from T1 A & B to T2 has already begun. Infact the side of the terminal where this hotel and showroom are ( T1 A) only housed AI & G9 and off them AI has only just shifted OUT of there to T2. Nonetheless , iv not seen the exact location of the showroom myself so lets hope its along the main road entering & exiting the airport and not partly invisible like the Starbucks there.

After setting up shop in Delhi and Bengaluru, Maserati has announced its entry into Mumbai. The Italian luxury carmaker has tied up with Group Planet Petal and opened Petal Maserati, its showroom in the new Taj Hotel at Santacruz, situated in the airport zone.

The showroom can display up to 5 cars. Maserati's model line-up for India includes the Quattoporte, Ghibli, GranTurismo and GranCabrio. It will also feature a configurator area where buyers can customize their vehicles. This new showroom is said to cost the Italian carmaker US$2 million.

The Maserati workshop is located in Marol, Andheri East, which is a few kilometers from the main showroom. It boasts of a 10,000 sq.ft. area, which houses 6 work bays and a parts warehouse, and will service the entire range of cars from Maserati.

Maserati officially re-entered the Indian market in synergy with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles India (FCAI) in July 2015.

What a peculiar location. Ferrari is at a more suitable location @ Bandra Kurla Complex, a busy + upmarket business area. Lamborghini is on an arterial road in Prabhadevi.

Personally, I think it would be a superior retail strategy to have Ferrari & Maserati together in one showroom. It's a proven arrangement that they already have in place in many countries.
