Hi, I've recently shifted to Mumbai (Lokhandwala in Kandivali to be precise). I was checking the service centers in the city over Fiat website, Torrid Motors at Goregaon and RS Motors look to be the only 2 options in Mumbai.
There is one at Thane by the name of Lifetime Mobbilities but I could not find anything over Team BHP by the same name.

This information is surprising - no service on Sat and Sun! I hope Torrid does not have this issue. And appointment at 1 or 2 weeks in advance? Big city problems maybe...

Any idea on the unauthorized reliable service centers, though that discussion would fall out of the scope of this thread.

Not big city problems, actually very small service facility arrangement problems. For a big metro like Mumbai, just two known service centers and that too both in western suburbs is really pathetic responsibility levels by Fiat. As usual. I think they had one somewhere in central Mumbai too but it is closed down.

Actually keeping that aside, even Fiat genuine spares are a nightmare to procure even in a metro city and these ASS people also simply wash off their hands saying there is nothing in stock. Most of the cars standing in the ASS are actually there waiting for some part or the other to arrive. They only have stock of regular consumables like oil and filters I guess. The rest is left to destiny. A destiny that every Fiat buyer buys along with the car for himself. Even a simple part like power windows with module doesn't exist in their inventory. Also the parts cost a bomb compared to other same category vehicles.

I could go on and on, but I hope you got the picture. All the best mate.

I had been to RS Motors to get the faulty door lock issue resolved in my Punto. The journey to RS from Thane itself was exhausting. When I reached the place there was no parking available at the workshop, in fact few of their cars were parked on the road. Minutes of opening the workshop began the drama of relocating the cars and accommodating those cars come for service. My car was serviced on the road and with BEST buses, tempos, cars coming dangerously close to the cars being serviced, my heart was in my mouth on few instances. Although the door lock took 30 mins to be replaced, it took 2 hrs for the billing and gate pass formalities.

All in all, they do have a strong technical team(as I am told) but their arrangement for cars coming for service is pathetic. The workshop inside was overflowing with cars. I am told that they do a good job related to body shop (denting, painting).

Will I visit them? Maybe, maybe not for the distance reqd to commute.

When Fiat announced FASS in Thane called Life Time Mobility (a multi car workshop also doubling as FASS), I was thankful that I didn't have to commute to Kandivali. But my joy was short lived as I had a bad experience at FAS to start with. But then that requires a separate thread.

Do we have Torrid now? I thought RS Motors is the only authorized centre

The service centre is actually a normal workshop with limited space. Imagine when they get cars as far from Thane!

There is another garage I reviewed recently - Maithri Motors. They are good enough for the old Fiats (may be new ones too). Then I heard about someone in Panvel too (ex Fiat mechanic or so). Haven't got any leads as such.

Edit:

Is Panvel close to you? Please check above; I could pass a contact if you need it - Haven't had any experiences though.

Torrid is shown on Fiat website. I will make it a point to check Maithri Motors, I guess if they can work on old fiats successfully, new fiats should be easier for them. I maybe wrong, but I come from that analogy where if you are able to drive an ambassador, all other 4 wheeler are easy to drive.

I stay in Lokhandwala Township (Kandivali East) so Panvel is probably my midpoint till Pune!

Unfortunately no. Panvel is the farthest from Thane. I do have their details i.e Car Menders and a few Fiat colleagues have got their car serviced there and have good things to say about them. But it will be my last option.

There is one near Vasai called Vtech Automotive but there are no reviews about them. They are located on NH8 at Vasai closer than RS motors.

After much deliberations on the Fiat India FB page plus regular communications with Mr Mangesh Kodalkar & Mr Valson Kumar of Fiat, finally a workshop opened as FASS in Thane. This was post Balaji Autoworld being terminated as FASS although they still continue to service Fiat cars but only paid service. A visit to the new FASS resulted in meeting Mr George the owner.

This FASS is basically a multi car workshop and now has doubled as Fiat Authorized service centre. The multi car workshop used to service Fiat cars earlier and hence must have got the authorization.

The workshop will have 3 dedicated bays for Fiat vehicles. There will be dedicated 2 Service advisor, 2 senior technicians for engine related issues, 2 senior technicians for other services and 3 trainee technicians for assistance and small issues resolvement. One of the senior technician will double up for electrical related issues.

The multicar workshop is owned by 3 partners who have extensive experience in Auto sector (they claim)

Finally a FASS in Thane

Dislikes:
Mostly crowded with other brand cars. Prioritization may be hit for Fiat cars
Location - direct road is under development, may take a longer time than usual.

Edit: Somehow I am unable to attach the google map. Hence attached in word doc showing the directions. The black arrows point to present route to be taken. red indicates the direct route which as seen in the pic is under construction.
When I asked the owner if I could click pics of the workshop to put on forum, they flatly refused saying the partners and Fiat is against it.

Just penning down my experience at Life Time Mobility FASS at Thane.

First visit: 6th February 2016

I had booked an appointment to resolve the following issues:'
1) Glowplug alarm on the MID
2) Front suspension noise
3) Noise from steering when turned to complete left or right.
4) Air bag failure indications

Reached FASS at 9.30 am. It took them 30 min to open a job card and note down the issues. There was no delivery time indicated on the job card and delivery date was mentioned of next day i.e 7th (today). I repeatedly told them that I need the vehicle same day.

At 4.30 pm I received a call from SA saying 3 glow plugs had gone bad and 4th one was also doubtful. I told them to change all of them and confirmed with them that I can pick up the vehicle at 5.30 pm. Also reminded that the rear mud flap needed a screw since it was hanging. Upon reaching the FASS, I was handed a bill of Rs 5.1K and they had charged for me for
1) Glow plugs 4
2) Consumables Rs 50
3) Screw for mud flap Rs 1.50
4) Labour charges Rs 350
5) Scanner charges. Rs 850

This sent me in a fit of rage. I had told them that the glow plug replacement was under warranty despite which they charged me. Took a lot of back and forth talk with the GM of the FASS who finally agreed for the charges to be cancelled. They still persisted with the consumables, screw charges, labor and scanner charges. Made a few calls to Mumbai service team head and made him talk to the GM after which they agreed to cancel all charges and give me a bill of zero amount. The SA had the guts to ask me Rs 1.5 for the screw. A sarcastic look was sufficient to make him back off.

Now in all this melee, they did not attend the front suspension noise issue. When reminded them they said that they had sprayed the lubricant on the rubber part of the suspension. When I asked why they did not replace the part as it should be under warranty and that I had got it done previously from Balaji FASS for the rear suspension. They feigned ignorance. They said that the steering noise was not there at all (this inspite of the fact that the GM had taken the test trial in the morning and confirmed it).

All in all, a hopeless FASS and I will not recommend them at all. Agreed that there are in the learning process, but their attitude totally put me off. They more more argumentative rather than supportive. The workshop GM was persistent that I pay for the scanner charges. When I challenged him to identify the faulty glow plug without scanner he tried to change the conversation.

I would have preferred Balaji to be continued as FASS, atleast there I was at liberty to witness the service. Here I was asked to wait in the lounge.

I am going to write a detailed mail to Mangesh Kodalkar and Fiat service regarding my frustrating experience.

Now I dont have any other alternative but to visit RS Motor in Kandivali which is about 30kms from my place.

Second visit on 20th February 2016:

Visited the FASS at Thane. This time another stranger experience.

Reached the workshop, test drive taken and noise confirmed from the front left suspension. There was also noise confirmed from rear left door. Also asked the SA to check the battery if multiple cells have gone bad. Now the SS says he will have to keep the vehicle for 2 days- first day to identify the source and second day to resolve. Some tough talking and SA promised that he will try to deliver the same day.

Finally the car was ready for delivery, took a TD. No noise from front left suspension and rear left door. But could hear some faint noise from front right suspensions but that was intermittent not steady one. Hence left it as it is there and asked the SA to complete the documentation. I was hoping they will again surprise me with billing as they did last time. But this time it was all OK. Surprisingly no soiling of the seats as last time. This time they took all precautions I guess.

Then came the biggest surprise, they asked me to fill the customer feedback form. 3 forms filled and I was back home. A good experience but it waits to be see whether the FASS will be perfect in the coming days.

I need to get some body work (denting and painting) done on the boot of my Linea and looking for a good body shop, in or near Navi Mumbai. I am open to taking my car at non-fiat workshops as well, priority being that the work should be done properly.

Hello and thanks for the heads up about Lifetime Mobilities' appalling service. I was going to take my car for its annual service there but now I've decided against it.

Would you recommend Car Menders? How good are they? Since I live in Navi Mumbai, that would be closer and more convenient for me too!

There are a few Fiat owners who had got their service/repair done at Car menders and they had only good things to say about the workshop. Since its near your place, its worth visiting the FASS rather than coming all the way to Thane.

My 3rd annual service is due on 16th June. I am in two minds whether to approach LTM or not. The other nearest FASS is RS motors in Kandivali but then its not feasible. Still thinking on the same.

Sounds good. I'll take my car for its service to Car Menders and let you know my experience.

I'd like to recount my experience at Lifetime Mobbilities for the benefit of all readers here.

1) First experience was when I gave my car for a paid service, and they kept it for five days, returned it dirty after changing all fluids and seemingly not much else. This was my first car and I'm not familiar with timelines but this is still excessive.
2) I took the car on a longish drive and it developed some problem with the engine light coming on. There was a burning smell too so I took it back to these guys. They initially said it was an issue with the vaccum pipe that had cracked, then later called and said they replaced three of the four ignition coils too, charging me 13k. Now on replacing these coils, there is an issue with engine jerking in first gear when the clutch it not pressed.
3) I had earlier asked them for a new remote key since I only had one existing key (also a remote key). It took two full months for the new key to arrive. When I gave my car to them to activate they key, they claimed they have to send it to Balaji as their machine wasn't working. Whatever. Two/three days later, they said its ready and I picked the car up. The new key worked fine and I was happy for the moment. A day later I discovered that the remote buttons on the perfectly working old key had been disabled with no explanation. (They tried to pass it off as being damaged.) Gave it back to them to get it activated and they said it was a safety feature to disable the second key, even when I explained to them that I had only one additional key and two remotes can be paired. They took my car for two more days to try and get it fixed. Later they called and said the door handle was damaged while activating/pairing the key with the lock and they would replace it whit me having to pay some amount for painting. That took another day. I picked the car up after that with the original key still disabled. On reaching home I find the locking mechanism itself pulls out completely and since it was closing time, I called them up to inform them and went back the next day. They agreed to replace it on a weekend. On the said day I go there and they coolly inform me that it AGAIN has to be sent to balaji (to fix a lock!) and it would take half the day. At this point I swore never to give my car to these idiots again and will now try to get it fixed elsewhere.

So to recap, every time I gave the car to fix an issue, they caused a new issue:
1) Gave car for vaccum pipe change, they changed ignition coils and caused a new issue with enging jerking at low speeds.
2) Asked them to activate new key and turned my perfectly working old key nonfunctional and couldn't get it fixed. Now I'm left with a nonworking key and still have only one key in total.
3) Overcharged for new key (they told me 6k all inclusive then charged tax on that 6k.)
4) Damaged door lock while trying to reactivate the old key AND then damaged the lock itself.

This has to be the worst, most incompetent and untrustworthy place I have been to and I wouldn't go anywhere near it again. It certainly put me off from buying a fiat again.

Does anyone know whether its possible to pair two remote keys simultaneously with the Linea and where I can get it done in Thane/Mumbai? (I'm in Thane.) Secondly, is there any reputed competent mechanic or garage that can help with the engine jerk issue in Thane?
