Renault Experience Centre at Phoenix Marketcity, Mumbai

Renault has launched an Experience Centre at Phoenix Marketcity in Kurla, Mumbai. Spread over an area of 4,500 sq. ft., the Renault Experience Centre has been designed to educate customers about the brand. Customers can explore Renault's line-up, take a virtual test drive and even book their car at the centre.

The Renault Experience Centre has been divided into a number of zones. In the Formula One zone visitors can get behind the wheel of a Formula 1 car and experience the pit-stop environment virtually. An actual Renault F1 car has also been put on display. The Gang of Dusters Virtual Reality (VR) Zone offers virtual drives through Leh valley in a Duster. Keeping with the digital theme, the Experience Centre offers virtual walkarounds and test drives of the company's passenger car line-up (Kwid, Duster, Lodgy or Captur) to visitors. In a separate zone, customers can virtually customize the cars as well. A dedicated 'Do You Know Renault' zone gives a brief history lesson about the brand.

The Renault Experience Centre in Mumbai is the first-of-its-kind for the brand, but the carmaker has plans to replicate it in other parts of the world.

What an amazing looking brand store! Whoever designed it clearly put his heart into it. Good to see a manufacturer taking presence in what is a high foot-traffic mall. If I were a car dealer, this is definitely an option I'd explore. Instead of the usual ground floor setup on a main road, a mall will give you lots of walk-ins. Test-drive? Just keep a couple of cars waiting in the parking lot and / or offer customers the chance to test-drive at home (if they are busy shopping). Recently, Lexus also thought a bit out of the box and opened a showroom at The Taj (link). It'll cost more, no doubt, as mall real estate is pricey. But one would rather have customers in an expensive showroom than an empty box at a VFM rental.

I'll be sure to check it out the next I'm at Market City. Have been there a couple of times. If they have some cool-looking merchandise on sale, will surely buy.

Great initiative. We have a similar experience here in Bangalore. In the exquisite UB City mall is a certain Ducati showroom and it’s automatically registers the brand as premium in a person’s mind (not that it needs such a facet but still).

Renault needs exactly such a thing. Considering it’s main product in India, Duster, is not premium at all.
