Rumour: Mahindra and TVS dealership group parting ways?

A friend of mine booked an XUV 300 on the 17th of last month at TVS showroom in Trivandrum. As the vehicle delivery was being delayed, he inquired on the same. The reply he got was that TVS and Mahindra are parting ways and hence his vehicle could not be delivered through TVS. They also said that the Pothen's group which is currently having Hyundai dealership will be teaming up with Mahindra. Can anybody throw some light on this ?

Well, TVS has split ways with Mahindra for sure. All their showrooms are empty looking and their vehicle service section is without supervisors.

Would strongly advise against sending your vehicles to TVS-Mahindra for servicing.

Reasons behind the split has many opinions and range from huge unsold stock and Mahindra not settling long-standing pending dues with the dealer. Whatever that means.

My boss who has an XUV500 is stuck not knowing where to send his XUV for service. TVS is not accepting the vehicle anymore for service. The Mahindra helpline recommendation asked him to take the vehicle to Ernakulam for service.
