Not all units. Mysore road went to Key Motors. Dairy Circle unit is being operated by Kropex for 6 months. One more unit was still to be decided. As of last week when I spoke to one of the guys there, the staff at Dairy Circle unit were given option to be with the unit for next 6 months, or search for other options.

Tata Motors to shut down their Concorde dealerships

https://auto.economictimes.indiatime...corde/74410242

Apparently it is considered non core, and they keep losing money on it.

So is there any Tata dealer around who is going to be a good choice going forward?

Tata Motors Concorde dealer network to shut down due to low sales, high losses

Quote:
Concorde showrooms, service and sales outlets are a fully owned subsidiary of Tata Motors... Tata Motors is officially shutting down Concorde Motors – as part of the brand’s strategy to shift focus from non-core operations... has been losing money... cumulative loss of over Rs 366 crore in a period of seven years... Concorde Motors will be entirely wound up by the end of this fiscal.

Kind of bitter sweet news. Bitter because many people are going to loose their jobs. Sweet for customers because Concorde was a pain to deal with. I hope Tata Motors finds better dealership partners which suit their current and future product lineup.

The overheads spent for Concorde were too high. Prime land, overstaffed! It was run a bit like an old Tata company. Concorde never had a fire in its belly unlike a principal owned dealership.

Re: Concorde Motors (Tata dealer group) is in big trouble. EDIT: Shutting down

Fair to let Concorde die now. One reason Tata kept on pumping money into Concorde over the last 5 - 10 years is that Tata needed dealerships! Their sales numbers had fallen off a cliff, no new dealers were interested in signing up & existing dealers were complaining of losses. Now, with cars that sell (e.g. Tiago, Nexon) and frequent model launches, the dealer community is more optimistic about Tata.

The best example is the main car street at Prabhadevi. In the 2000s, Shaman had a Tata outlet there, which it shut down. Concorde Motors was the only presence Tata then had in the area. Recently, it got taken over by Puneet Motors.

True. Concorde Prabhadevi staff was as lethargic as any in a government office.

Re: Concorde Motors (Tata dealer group) is in big trouble. EDIT: Shutting down

That's a sad news indeed. In my last almost 4 years of owning a Tata car in Delhi, only Concorde looked the best among many dealers. I had my car serviced/repaired at Concorde only. Initially, I tried 2 different different and both of them tried to con me in one way or the other but Concorde Sarita Vihar was very good to deal with.

Concorde as an organisation has been wound up and all its existing infrastructure have been to transferred to private management. For instance the Concorde Mathura road workshop has been taken over by SAB motors. As of now the existing staff who were working under Concorde are retained.
My father had a pleasant experience today at this workshop when he gave his Nano XTA for service. As usual his trustworthy SA took care of the service perfectly even on a Sunday!

I have had similar experiences here always. Some of the SA's and mechanics are really good there.

Re: Concorde Motors (Tata dealer group) is in big trouble. EDIT: Shutting down

I guess its for the good of the customers, feel pity for the staff though.

When we planned on purchasing Nexon I went to Concorde Motors (Tathawade Pune) first as its nearby, I never got a very positive response from their side. It was indeed like a Govt Office where nobody cares why you are there.
Finally I went ahead with other dealer and gave Concorde a call if they would be interested in the deal, then again they said they will get back with an offer, I am still waiting for that offer and one year old Nexon.

I maybe wrong but I think that is the same chain.

In Bangalore, which Tata dealership is recommended after Concord Motors?
Hey Crodjer I did my 2nd free service at Classic motors Yeshwanthpur, they were very courteous and the service was done in a very detailed manner. Classic motors was recommended by few BHPians and proved to be as good as any Maruti/Mahindra service center (I have personal experience of only these brands).

I am back to Pune now

Re: Concorde Motors (Tata dealer group) is in big trouble

KHT motors in Whitefield(near Pheonix mall) does a decent job. I used to get my vehicle serviced earlier from there and I was never overcharged. Also, they don't add up extra services without consulting us.
