I had told them not to do any wheel balancing or alignment as I have done it couple of months back. For other charges I think its ok. I need to ask them why they changed Cons and charged for Oil drain.
Thanks for the information.

MGO 5W40 @ 2300 bucks is cheap IMO or am I missing something.

The Swift engine oil capacity is 3.1 litres so going by the grade it seems to synthetic oil. I had done my 10K service recently if my Swift ZDi where I was charged Rs 1008.67/litre so it us approximately Rs 3026 for 3.1 litres.

Ok - I didn't realize it's synthetic. The regular MGO costs around 300-400 per litre.

No Sir, the oil was indeed 5W40. Attaching the screen shot of the bill for your reference (See the part number on that = 'SI5W40') which means 5W40 oil was used.

1) The 300-400 per litre is mineral oil;
2) The 600-700 per litre is semi-synthetic oil;
3) The 900-1000 per litre is fully synthetic oil.

Prices mentioned above are approximate ones.

Re: Maruti Swift Servicing at 20,000 KM

Hi BHPians, my ZDi is due for 4th service tomorrow (198xx km). Am planning on getting only these done. (Helpful list, thanks lone_driver)

Issues with my car:
1. CD cannot be inserted in the system. I tried just 3 months back, not sure if I tried it earlier. Will they replace the entire system under warranty?
2. Gearshifts - N->1 and 2->3 have become slightly hard, not all the time but sometimes.
3. Clutch has become slightly hard (not as soft as a new car).
4. I got the MGA reverse sensors installed before taking delivery but that have installed silver color sensors (on my white car). Am asking them to paint them white.
Any suggestions?

Thanks

Add the transmission oil to the list too even though MASS will change it is at 40K kms as per recent change in servicing.

Replying to your questions in the same points:

1. Has the problem been reported to MASS during the earlier services? What exactly happens when you try putting the CD at the slot? If there is an issue they'll repair the HU (pertaining to the CD infeed / outfeed motor) and not replace it.

2 & 3. Get the clutch bled and also I feel you'll need to change the transmission oil to see if there is any difference. Even after the oil is changed, the shifting is hard then it could be the gear shifter linkages or synchronizer rings.

4. I'd suggest leave it like that, I know it looks out of the place. I am not sure if it is correct to paint these sensors as it may affect its functionality.

1. No, I haven't reported it earlier. I'm not sure of their competency to repair the internals of an electronic equipment. I hope they replace it.

4. From what I've heard, you can actually paint the sensors. May be I'll verify.

Also, can I ask MASS to use mineral oil? Or semi synthetic? I do not want my service bill to bloat up right now.

Thanks Anurag!

1. If this is the company fitted music system, I guess they are of Nippon make. MASS would not repair it, you will have to take it to Nippon service center in your city and they would take care of it.

The choice of engine oil is completely left to the user, so you are well with in your rights to tell them to chose the oil you want. Just make sure you explicitly tell them about the oil when the job card is being prepared.
