How to Get a Swift Vdi with ABS?

Hi,

Last week I booked a Swift Diesel as my second car. I wanted a Swift Vdi with ABS and EBD. I had been to Indus Motors in Royepettah High Road in Madras and they flatly refused to take a booking for Swift Diesel with ABS.

I see a few people from Kerala managing to get a Diesel with ABS. What is the trick?

I have currently booked a White swift Vdi for an ORP of 5.7L

Any advice on how to get a Swift Vdi with ABS would be much appreciated.

Ram

Swift Vdi ABS is available, check with other dealers.
I think the waiting period will be extended by another 2 months, not sure about the waiting period though.....

I got one too, last month, and I am in Bangalore. Seen only one other Vdi ABS, though. Maruti does not produce this variant in the numbers required, I guess. Check with another dealer or tell them you are prepared to wait for whatever it takes. question is, Are you?

Even I have booked Swift VDi with ABS @RNS Bangalore last month. Last week I checked the status with them and they told I might get the car in next month.

I am beginning to feel oh-so-lucky!

I got my Swift VDI ABS from Indus in Chennai --- in six weeks!

Since then the waiting list must have really gone up.

Is this car so special that people are prepared to wait months for it?

Well that's primarily because there aren't too many alternatives for it in its segment.

Hmmm...Yes, I guess that partly explains why I have one outside.

But I wouldn't have waited months for it.

I got my swift DDIS in 10 days in Feb 2007 when the whole Swift Diesel was new and people were still doubting its worthiness and its VFM.

If you have some connections with people high-up in the Indian political establishment/Central govt undertakings , a letter from them is the fastest way of accelerated delivery is what I've heard.

Same is the case with deliveries here. In Shillong, the VDI with ABS can be made available in 15 days. The VDI without ABS is available ex-stock in all colours.
