Whats the update on this? Has anyone interacted with their dealers on this and what were the responses given by dealers? And, most important of all, has anyone managed to get the interest on their booking amounts?

I don't think Maruti was serious about the interest part. They just gave one circular in Indian Express for just one day! If they were serious and wanted all the customers to know about this offer they would have had their dealers despatch letters to all the waiting custmers and given out the circular in different newspapers for a couple of days atleast. What Maruti is trying to do is give something but without making any noise about it so majority of the people miss out on the offer. They can now argue that technically the offer was made and the customer should have spoken about it to the dealer. The dealer will say that Maruti hasn't told them anything about this offer and they never saw any advert for the same in any newspapers.

In that case you would be getting the car on the 29th day of the month itself

Maruti have ALWAYS paid a fair interest on booking amounts from the day they began operations in the country (early 1980s). Even if you opted out you got a refund of your deposit WITH interest.

People would rather book car with full down payment and wait for delivery. They will be getting 24% interest on the booked amount.....

I got the interest cheque today from Maruti. BUT, the amount is way lower then what I estimated.

I had paid Rs.191,000 as down payment on September 5. The letter of delivery was dated October 12. This means I had to be paid interest @ 191,000X24% for approx 36 days which comes to Rs.4585.

The amount I have recieved is Rs.1447. Looks like Maruti gave me interest on a down payment of about Rs.50,000 only.

Booking amount is 50000Rs. Come dealers ask full amount which is AGAINST company policy.

And the interest is 5%.

No matter how much you pay the dealer, this scheme is only on valid on booking amount which is always considered to be Rs. 50k, so no matter how much you pay, they will calculate your interest on amount of 50k

Did you pay this amount to get the car earlier than expected?

@Amit : How can I go about collecting the amount? I didnt want to cause a scene at the time of taking delivery

Never received an allotment letter but I was informed of the Engine/Chassis number via telephone on 21st Nov. Booked : July 6th

So that works out to a little under 6 months @ Rs50000/-

I was informed of the delivery over phone and the letter reached me after I took delivery of the car. So your letter may well be on it's way too. When you go to take delivery, tell the dealership about this interest thing and they will surely help you.

I spoke to the salesperson at the time of delivery and they asked me to sign the allotment letter. After that the letter was handed over to Maruti by them and the cheque came from Maruti through the dealer by courier. There was no hassle about the procedure but it takes time so be patient.

A win win situation for its customers.

-> Dont miss the "terms & Conditions apply" on the left.
I did check with one of the dealers in bangalore ,,, they claim that this policy holds good only for Swift disel
