FIAT A S S nothing has changed(Manipal Motors)

My car was given for repairs after a minor accident, to replace the front bumper and tinkering and painting of the bonnet and FR side panel.

Cost and parts.
Door glass 657.82
Front Bumper 6277.6
Headlight 6818.89
Foglamp 1569.82
Labour 8825.00
VAT 12.5% 1915.51
Service tax 12% 1059.00
Education Cess 2% 21.18
S&HE Cess 1% 10.59

Insurance paid 16866
My pocket 10289
Total paid 27,155.00

Total tax paid 26.5% our Government is poor!!!!!!

The car looked fine when delivered, today when the car was washed, the paint of the bumper, bonnet and side panel does not match the rest of the car. Looks like a mixed and matched kit car. While the car was delivered it appears polish was used to mask the color difference. In addition all fitted parts appear to have lost alignment after a drive of 100 kms.
I had specifically spent 2 days to get them to realign the panel gaps on the fitted part, it appears that the job done was with "Spit and Polish" no pun intended!
The bumper has sagged, the RH headlight appears to have gone with it, the grill appears to "Hang in there" Hanging on to the bonnet while the bumper does its trip south. The car appears to be mutating before my eyes. Have contacted Manipal, waiting to see what they do about it.
Will keep you guys posted.
Mods, please move thread to appropriate location if necessary.

Why do not you contact FIAT officials through mails or posts? They will come to know what is happening.

Thats funny . Previously when I had asked the price for the same (headlamp) they had quoted me 8100 per piece. That comes to 16200 a pair.

Too costly spares man. Are these the real costs of spares? Maruti spares would be much cheaper. If I do a comparo with Wagon R the FR Headlight had cost me around Rs.1500 and the FR and RR bumpers had cost around Rs.2100 (both included).

@maxbhp.
Initially that is what they quoted me too. 8100 per headlight.

The cost posted does not include the taxes, however, includes a 5% discount offered to Reliance insurance customers.

How long did they take to repair?

My car is at Concorde right now after last night's rear end hit. It is NV though.

I don't believe those prices. It seems more like Skoda Laura's spare part cost list.

This is quite discouraging especially for those betting high on 1.3 MJD and that includes myself as well.

Wow!
You had a bad experience with Manipal Motors.
I thought the price of Fiat spares had come down. If they continue pricing it at these levels then god help them.
As for the paint finish - it is very difficult to get the touched up paint to match factory finish. complain to manipal and ask them to sort it out.
OT - almost all the honda's i have seen in Mumbai that have had an accident touched up seem to have the same problem of paint not matching with the car.
