+1 for Metro Ford. They are not exactly super efficient, but do their job. The Figos don't seem to have crowded the service center yet (being a relatively new car), I mostly see Fiestas and Ikons. So it remains to be seen how they will manage the Figo rush once it hits them.

I guess the reason they are able to handle, is because one; I find those folks are the same for some time now. No constant change of staff. Hence their social machinery is well oiled.

And also they have another work shop in Lingarajpuram.

So whenever I ask for a pick-up, they send the driver from Lingarajpuram.
I guess they have one more service team up there.

Good thing is that the pick-up service is complementary, but I still pay the driver 100-150 bucks just to bring the car back safe!

As Sammy mentioned, they dont force you to change the spares, but always say this or that to prolong the usage.

The service manager writes his report for the service, which one can consult at the time of the next service and accordingly decide what all one needs to do. I think this may be a standard practice, but I liked the sincerity with which they at least follow it.

Yes they may delay delivery, but over all the folks are courteous and that is what I liked about the place.

Re: Ford service -- Suggestion required

My Friend was looking to service his Ford Ikon 1.3 2002 model. He recently brought it from his aunt. The service was due so he went to Metro Ford (St. Marks Road, Bangalore). Here is a list of things that the service center guys asked him to replace. Can anyone here please suggest if all this is needed. The car has run 62k km's and was serviced last 57k km's.

1. Oil pressure switch need to be replaced since there is a slight oil leakage (450 bucks)
2. Cord Wire between Ignition coil and Spark Plug needs to be replaced. Needs 4 wires. 1200 each (4.8k total)
3. Engine bedding needs to be replaced (900 bucks)
4. Rear wheel bearings needs to be replaced. (2000 bucks each - total 4k)
5. Brake pads need to be replaced.

It was sparingly used all these years and maintained well. He was asking me if all this was needed now ? The only problem he is facing is the Jerking in the first and second gear.

I've fixed an appointment for 10.30 in the morning on Saturday and i reached the place 15 minutes late. The first sight of the brand new service station made me nervous -- it looked more like a roadside garage than an authorized Ford Service centre. The whole place was crowded being a weekend and i had to wait. I waited for 15 minutes before i lost my patience and asked a lady over there if somebody would attend to me and told her that i had come to give my car for sevicing. She asked me to hang on and finally after another 15 minutes of wait a supervisor kind of guy came to attend and collected the details. He impatiently answered my couple of queries and he was more than willing to get rid of me. He asked me come back later in the evening to collect the car.

I went back by 5 and saw the Car was ready for delivery. I checked it and noticed that the car was not cleaned properley --both inside and outside - i had to catch hold of the cleaning guys and get it cleaned. Finally i settled the bill (about 2.3k) and walked out of the place thinking why people thought Ford service sucked.

The car rides well but then i had no complains that needed a fix - I was happy that they didnt break anything in the name of servicing. This is the fourth time i have serviced the car and first time in Bangalore, all the previous services were done in coimbatore and i can confidently say my experience in CBE was far better. I'm not sure if i'll get the next service done from this place. Overall my experince with Lathangi ford is bad atleast the customer service part.

Quite true regarding experiences at Lathangi. They seems to have a perennial problem with cleaning the cars. Waterspots appear all over the car.Everytime, i confront them, they blame it on the quality of water but the truth is that if they are a bit careful to dry out the water after washing with a clean Microfiber, all these can be avoided. i am planning to check out the Elite Ford for their service quality next.

Anyone has experienced servicing at Elite ford?

Re: Ford service -- Suggestion required

I am not happy with Lathangi service. Gave my Ikon for service last week as it completed 67K. Got a bill for 26K+. All four shock absorbers were replaced. Paid the bill and took the car, noticed a sound coming for the back left side door. Another probelm, car jerking slightly when in neutral. This is prominent when switching on the AC. I was busy took the car to home.Noticed that the wheel alignment is not done even after charging it in the bill. All door interiors have dark markings!!!.

Came back to Lathangi the next day.Show all these to the service supervisor. I again noticed that Fuel filter is not replaced even though it is charged. Asked the service supervisor to show all the replaced items. Car was put on the ramp, fuel filter was not replaced. It was replaced in front of me . Wheel alignment done again. Jerking issue and sound from the back rectified. The reason for jerking is "Spark plugs were more tight!!".

One thing I noticed is that , they are not bothered about the customers or loosing them in due to their bad work. When ever I gave the car for service, I need to go again as there will some issues pending. They always give back the car with dirty interiors.
I am planning to try with the new dealer at Marthahalli next time.Fed up complaining to Ford or to the dealer as there is no change in their attitude.

Regards,
Gopi

Re: Ford service -- Suggestion required

I had given my car for repairs at Elite Ford. See my review on it.
I recommend staying away from it. I did not see a single happy customer on any of the 4 days I went there

Re: Ford service -- Suggestion required

I am going to Lathangi for the last 4 years and done 7 services so far for my Figo. I am fed up with their service and need to find an alternative. One of the reason for me to go to Lathangi, BG Road is because it is closer to me. Looking for alternative service stations recommendations even if it is not a FORD dealer.

Issues I have with this
1. There will not be a receptionist to coordinate with SAs and you. You have to go and figure out
2. Now a days it is by appointment. If you do not have appointment, you will be required to wait for the appointment services are taken then you will be addressed. Till then you have to stand which could be 15 mins min max 30 mins was for me
3. If you want a body work you need to go to place after NICE road. It is not done here and they will not take the car also here and do it for you
4. I asked for FOG lamp, which cannot be fitted here. You need to go to the place after NICE road
5. They started adding unnecessary labour service costs
a) AC vent cleaning which I have not asked. 750 Rs + service tax Had to argue and get it removed from the bill.
b) Value added service - interpad cleaning - 1600Rs + Tax. When I enquired it is for checking battery health, Spraying anti friction into door pads
c) This is above the typical 10K Service labour cost which si 1200 Rs.
Every time my parts are 50% or less and this service labor cost is 50% or more.
6. Cleaning sucks. I repeated complained. Same experience every time. This time I made sure I will leave it on the weekend for service and took the delivery around 5PM. Shown all the patches and improper cleaning to the SA. He got the 2 boys and personally shown them to all and cleaned it.

However overall they do a very very poor quality work and does not care about any customer satisfaction. I am worried if the outside work what is visible is so bad what will be the kind of work they do while changing engine oil and other stuff. Looks like there is no supervisor for any of dept.

I also own Maruti Swift and I have experienced the kind of sincere effort they put to correct their short comings. Also in general quality of work is better there.

I have always had my Figo serviced at Cauvery Ford in Binnyston garden and I must say I am pretty happy with the place. The SA are very knowledgeable and the service level has improved over the last couple of years.

Agree with that one. Their body shop is very good as well. Have had multiple good experiences. The chief person Mr. Ravindra Babu is a good man.

I have been giving my Fiesta to Bosch, located in JP Nagar 7th Phase. They do normal servicing and are also able to get Ford spare parts, without any issue. I would suggest you to give them a try.

@Aiel - Thank you for the info. I was not aware of about this place. One of my friend has recommended Cauvery Ford, Magadi Road which is far away.
