Wow...

Thanks guys for the replies and advice.

I forgot to mention that the car hasn't been registered yet because we wanted a specific number. My Dad called up Automax and after a long (harsh) conversation, the car was taken to their workshop to look into the matter. The first thing I am gonna do tomorrow morning is call Honda Bombat and Ghaziabad factory,

What made us think it could be a test drive vehicle was that

1. July manufactured car in Jan 2009.

2. Sales man says that the Honda factory does not use first in first out policy (ridiculous) and also made us wait for 4 days for the white automatic as he said it would come from the factory.

3. No plastic covers on the car when we took delivery (he said, for the PDI, they clean the car and thoroughly check each part).

4. Some wierd cabin noise like bearings.

Lets see whats the progress tomorrow.

Thanks guys. Pour in you views.

Cheers

I recently saw a new Accord at MSU and it has plastic covers on seat.
July 2008 for Jan 2009 is a not a good figure considering the good way this car is received in market. May be October or November as during that Diwali period manufacturers tend to manufacture more cars. So chances are that you get October and November manufactured car.

And if the dealer said " Its coming from factory " its not a good indication. If it really came from factory, Honda will have records of the same.

And those noises are not known to crop up in Honda Accord so quickly.
The fact that this car is not yet registered can be useful if the car has to be replaced.

automax is from the same group which owns samara hyundai. I'm pretty surprised to see this kind of problem arising from automax and that too within a year of their operations. As far as their service center is concerned i would rate it 9/10 after having got my honda serviced there thrice. Not much aware about the showroom though.
But i suggest you meet up with the senior most authority there as early as possible.

samara is known for such issues.
while purchasing santro,i was given a july model in november.this was way back in 2002.
we came to know about this at the time when we got our RC.

btw were you told before that you will get a 2008 model?i assume this because, you took delivery in first week of january and generally you dont get new stock before 15th -20th jan

Update..

Since the car wasn't registered yet. Automax has admitted for some noise coming from the bearings and has admitted to change the car.

And also Promised to give us a car manufactured in Nov or Dec.

Cheers to TBHP

Great!! Felt happy about you getting a replacement.

Accord buyers from Automax, check the accord before taking it.

May be the VIN number/ Engine number of this lemon might help.

Hmm, I'll postpone this week's wash of the car. It's going to rain and it's gonna flood till the world ends. Honda just approved a full replacement car. A Honda dealer admitted to a fault.

I have to write my will before the flood comes. Gotta run!

Manyu,

Congrats on getting this issue resolved so fast. Good that they agreed to replace the car. Guess the unregistered run helped.

Equally stumped, i must say!

Now, where is the non-official spokesperson for Honda? This would give the person a point to proclaim.

May be the dealer saw a thread here.
This time be make sure you have the PDI list with you before you take the car.

Edit : Saw lambuhere1's post. I have similar views. Take PDI and check it thoroughly.
Also I appreciate that Honda dealer accepted fault and is ready to rectify it.
