I fully agree. I spoke to 3 different guys at Tata AIG. All three quoted different premiums for the same IDV!

This is a real sad part of this property insurance these days. You will get this in all the property insurance what you do. The only person can help or can stop this is IRDA. I have written personal letter to IRDA and the finance minister of India but unfortunately none of them is replying these letters.

This is a really bad situation for insurance companies feature. Insurance companies will be failing in settling the bigger claims. As if there is a total loss for the car like Merc. Or Bmw then company will have to make the payments like 25 Lacks to may be 40 Lacks or even more and if four claims like this come in a single year then the profit of insurance companies will effect badly. Which ultimately affect us only because they will collect the money from us only. (As insurance business, is to collect money from 100 people and pay that money to 4 people which have suffered the losses.)

@rjvora_2000 - In one the posts you had mentioned that the maximum discount limit for Bajaj Allianz is 65%. Is this the 'de-tariff' discount or the 'commercial discount'?

BTW, whats the difference between the 2 types of discount?

I got 27% commercial discount from Tata AIG on renewal. The guy mentioned that their maximum permissible limit os 40% but thats only for luxury car segment (i.e. Mercedes, BMW etc).

This discount is for private car's and not for commercial car's.

This 65% it the total maximum discount that is if the NCB on the policy is 25% then the detariff discount can be maximum 45% and if the NCB is 45% then the detariff discount can be till 20% only.

Still i would like to say that this is not a thumb rule in the company, this discount can very person to person.

“Latest news:- Companies have been given the authority to change the minimum deduction % (or rate) (companies have to take the permeation from IRDA for this also.) This will be applicable from 1st of January 2009.”

Let me give you more information on this same: -
„This can not be and will not be compulsory for all the insured’s.
„None of the insurance company in between the insurance term can apply any higher deductibles to any policy.
„This has to be informed to the insured in writing and accepted by the insured.
„Add-on covers with extra premium like “Loss of use” or “waiver of depreciation” can be given to insured.
„None of the other condition can be changed in the policy.

Why this is done?

All the companies re-insure the property and they have to get the money from the re-insurer. Now according to international standards our insurance companies will also change the rules and regulation. In developed countries the deductibles are very high to meet there levels our companies will be aloud to do this.

How will this affect us?

We may have to pay more premiums to keep the deductible on a lower side. And the person who is making the less claims can save by paying less premium.

Well don't want to comment on that. (Last year what you did)

I would suggest you must transfer to any pvt. company which has a tie up with the service center where you go and service your car. If you don't go to any service station then you should go to the most near service center to your home.

With your new Idv - 362500
CC more then 1000 and less then 1500
Old Ncb 20% and new 25%

With any company giving you additional discount of: -

20% - 9200/-
30% - 8200/-
35% - 7700/-
Discounts are available more then this also.

To get more discount you have to bargain more. This are just an indicative rate, actual rates may differ a little not much.

Just got this offer today from Tata AIG.

Getting 2 service coupons. Not sure if an Authorised Ford Dealer is listed. They say Metro Ford, Hessaraghatta Road is registered? Where is that? Is it still open?

The only Metro Fords I know in Bangalore are

1. St. Mark's Road.
2. Lingarajpuram
3. Palace road.

Anywhere else?

Tata AIG contact needed

I renenwed my car insurance with Tata AIG this Nov, at a higher premium than competition. This was because they were offering a better IDV and I have mostly heard good reviews of TA.

I was promised service coupons worth Rs 3000 and holiday voucher (useless). Although I recieved the latter, I am still waiting for the service coupons. It has been over 1 month now. Follow ups with the DSA proved ineffective till now and the call center no is forever busy.

Does anyone have the email ID or the contact no of the higher officials at Tata AIG?

All pvt. players are good. Tata, Bajaj, Chola and other's too. Normally I personally don't trust Reliance and Icici. - This is my opinion, Please don't make this a public statement. I don't think that there is any list on net which will have the list what you are asking for but still if you find it please post the like hear too.

Just be careful.

Some of my friends from this trend itself are facing a problem in getting the service from what was committed to them. (Just read last few massage and you will understand)

This is what I hate of this DST guys and call center guys they will commit lot of things and will perform badly when real need comes.
