Also hows your experience been with royal sundaram?
Pros: Min out of pocket expenses during claim, No worry about parts categorization for depreciation, Additional peace of mind, Unlimited claims (specific Insurers only).
Cons: Additional cost in addition to insurance premium, Available for first few years of ownership (2/3/5 yrs), once claimed will lose NCB.

Royal Sundaram provides unlimited claims under zero depreciation clause, I have opted it for my Punto for this year. The buying of the Insurance and add ons was online on RS website and it was a breeze, no hassles. The policy document with payment details was immediately sent to the e-mail id and original copy to residence in 15 days.

I am currently looking for insurance renewal for my fludic verna, it is almost a year old and m currently with new India assurance, I am getting a 30 percent discount adding to a premium of 27k. Should I go ahead or it's better to look for another insurance company.

I have the zero depreciation cover

Re: Best Auto Insurance service provider

My Wagon R Insurance expires in 30 days.
Some quotes are as below:

1) Tata AIG- Rs. 4982/-
2) Maruti Insurance(Iffco Tokio/My Current provider)- Rs. 5020/-
3) Royal Sundaram- Rs. 5177.

My question is I wanted to avail the Zero Dep through Maruti but since the same is extended till the third year of insurance renewal, I am not eligible.

My car registration is in 2012. Do Maruti honour other company insurance claims for cashless in the same manner as the insurance products availed through them.

I was keen on Zero Dep and any pointers who could be considered?
BTW, Maruti has thrown a Rs. 1000/- labour discount with their insurance.

Pls. suggest!!

Where do you service your car? Navnit/Fortpoint/Spectra or others like Sterling?? Check with them who all are there on their cashless list? If only the three as mentioned by you then amongst the three stick to Maruti offered one? There are other Insurers like Future Generali, Bharati Axa who offer zero dep add on for cars upto 5 yrs of ownership, you might want to check up with the workshop first.

Re: Best Auto Insurance service provider

Thanks Ghodlur

I service them at Fortpoint Thane. Even I thought of the same as it was making sense to stick to Maruti.
Only catch- No Zero Dep Extended!!

Any good or Bad feedback for ICICI Lombard for 4 wheeler claims ?
I am looking at renewing with them instead of future generalli, while their premium is competitive , for a Rs 99 more the Roadside assistance looks very interesting in terms of features (Free Tech help/garage tow etc)

For starters check this link.

http://www.mouthshut.com/product-rev...iews-925590633

Also get a first hand opinion from the workshop where you service the car regularly, they can give a much detailed feedback. Its not the owners who are harassed always, sometimes the workshops too bear the brunt of Insurer's high hand ness.

My suggestion: Generally stay away from ICICI and Reliance for motor insurance atleast. Take an informed decision.

Re: Best Auto Insurance service provider

I am in the process of renewal of my car Insurance which is 2 years old. I had a Zero Dep policy from Bajaj Allianz last year and I had 1 claim this year. I got quotes (all zero Dep policies) from Bajaj, Tata AIG and Royal Sundaram as follows:

Bajaj Allianz: 26000
Tata AIG : 17450 (IDV 450000)
RoyalSundaram: 17800
Both Bajaj and RoyalSundaram have IDV around 5.1L. If I ask TataAIG to increase the IDV then the the premium goes up as well.

I need to know if RoyalSundaram is a good option!

And any clue why Bajaj's premium is so high?

Royal Sundaram is a good option, I have it for my Punto. The buying process was quite simple and in case of any doubts the online chat do help a lot. I hope you have confirmed that they have a cashless tie up with the workshop where you service the car. Also check if the IDV calculated is correct.

Since you had a claim with BA, you are now categorized as high risk client. Hence an increase in the premium. If you hadn't claimed, then the premium would have been at par with RS quote.

How do I check IDV is correct or not? I have declared that I had a claim in last 1 year with Bajaj policy and the claim amount. And chose correct Car Make/Model/Mfg Year.

As per regulations, the IDV should be current ex showroom cost of the model/variant times the Years of depreciations in %. Generally the ex showroom prices for the model/variant dont get updated on the Insurer's databases on real time basis, hence they carry old values. Due to this the Insurer generally use a thumb rule of 10% less than last year's IDV. If the calculated value and that shown by the Insurer match, then you can stick to IDV proposed by Insurer or else you can change it during the renewal process online to an extent of 15% +/- of the value quoted online.

Re: Best Auto Insurance service provider

Does anybody have any pointers on Bharti-Axa Zero Depreciation policy? I paid 18,000 last year for the IDV of Rs. 6L for my 2 year old Punto. This year, they have quoted Rs. 15,000 for Zero Depreciation policy and Rs. 10,000 for Comprehensive without Zero Dep.

Re: Best Auto Insurance service provider

Hi,

My car had an IDV of 275000. I wish to go for Total Loss as Repair costs are estimated to be more than this.
Car is a White Swift VXi from Feb 2011 (Old shape, K-series). It is Haryana 'HR' registered and is located in Bangalore.
Today I just talked to the Claim Manager (ICICI Lombard) and I am told that as Car is from outside state, they are not getting good value for it in the market and hence, they would be paying lesser than the IDV, about 23000. It is Rs45000 lesser than the IDV.

I don't buy this. Experts, please help.

Regards,
Ashish
