Need info on NCB benefit

I have a Maruti 800 purchased in Dec 1997 and it is on my grand father's name. We have not claimed anything in the past 11 years. I am planning to sell the car keeping insurance with me and getting a new insurance for it while selling.

I am planning to buy a new car & planning to avail NCB benefit.
Do i need to buy new car in my grand father's name or it can be in my name for NCB benefits?
I am planning to buy on his name as i recently bought a car before 6 months in my name.

The M800 insurance is with National Ins Gulbarga(North Karnataka). Can i get NCB benefit in Bangalore or
some other city?

Djay

For the NCB to be transferred to another car, the policy holder must be the same (i.e. your grand father). This, and other answers, can be found in Ajmats excellent NCB Article (ARTICLE: No Claim Bonus - How to save on your insurance premiums!).
